If you're new around here you may have seen all the posts about "sweet, delicious Starville Onions" and thought to yourself "what the heck is a Starville Onion?!?"
Well, wonder no more my friend! I'll tell you the whole story...
A couple of years ago, in 2024, we discovered our sugar sand that washes so bad and tracks in the house like you can't imagine is also the absolute perfect soil for growing amazing onions.
We planted 3 boxes of onions that year. We got a lot of stuff wrong. But we got a few things right too! When we started taking our onions to market that year we kept hearing the same old question over and over and over!
Some stately southern gentleman would approach our table a drawl out "ye got any of them Videllia onions?" The local folks all wanted to know "are these Noonday onions?!" We got so tired of answering the question we started joking we had Starville Onions.
Pretty soon we decided to take that joke and run with it! We decided if Videllia, Georgia and Noonday, Texas could both build national fame for onions just because they happened to have the right soil - why couldn't we!!
We officially launched Starville Onions in 2025, and the crowds went wild! People would return week after week for more of those amazing sweet, delicious Starville Onions.
This year we are off to a fantastic start. We have more of our prized Big'uns than ever before. Even the "smalls" are still beautiful this year! And of course, they are selling like hot cakes!
