πͺ For Sale πͺ A few weeks ago I finished my third, original design, stick chair. It was fun to design and build, and this is probably the most comfortable chair I've made. This is a white and red oak American Stick Chair, built as an original design in the spirit of American folk furniture. The ammonia fumed finish really gives it warm and authentic feel. The chair has a casual sit with open arms and is built for a lifetime of use.
Some highlights:
π€ Made from beautiful quarter sawn white and red oak from: Bailey Wood Products Inc and Alexander Brothers.
π Traditional wedged and pinned mortise and tenon joinery.
π€ Sticks and seat shaped and saddled with a mix of traditional hand tools.
π Reverse tapered round legs with tapered stretchers..
π A unique multi-step finishing process. Starting with a 24 hour ammonia fume, followed by a light sand and soaking coat of half and half tung oil from RMP Finishes. Next, the chair was set out in the sun and cured for a few days. Finally, a coat of soft wax from Lost Art Press that was buffed out.
If you made it this far, Thanks! This chair is available for sale at $1,100 with free delivery within two hours of Scranton, PA. Shipping also available within the lower 48.
