A customer had some missing k***s on an old and valuable walnut desk. I turned three k***s— she only needed two, but with such a small piece it's easy to be off a bit, and if you make three you can take the best two. Here's the original and the result, fresh off the lathe.

This took two steps— turn the side, then cut them apart and re-chuck, then turn the face. Very delicate work, but the piece was worth it.

Been making doors lately.

I use Accoya, a furniture grade wood that, uniquely, is non-toxic and does not rot, check, warp or crack. It takes a great finish, stained or painted.
