As many of you guys know, our family has a fireworks business in Tompkinsville. I posted about it earlier.
Ashlee, Abram, and Titus have built a good business that is now serving all the surrounding counties. But along with their growth, it means they are all pulled away from our mattress store here at Gum Tree for much of June and the first few weeks of July. And with the introduction of sofas/upholstery and our website/social media expansion, we have grown here to the point that we really, really miss them when they are gone. I know I can’t really replace their knowledge and experience while they are gone, but we gotta get some more help in here.
I know our need is for delivery driver and delivery helper for the next few months and I know I also need a warehouse assistant through the summer. These jobs may easily turn into full time if our growth trajectory continues and as we expand into surrounding counties—Glasgow look out! You are first on the list.
As for NOW HIRING, I’m open to part time or full time help so let us know what you have in mind. But I know we are looking for good dependable workers who bring fresh ideas and great attitudes.
Moving furniture isn’t for the faint of heart. It is hot. It is heavy. It’s demanding because we expect perfection. It’s a tough job and we try our best to pay accordingly, with most jobs starting in the $15 to $18 range depending on duties. No education requirements. You will have opportunity to move up quickly if you bring furniture experience or if you simply take on workload skill sets like driving trucks or managing others.
And this may very well turn into full time and long term. We are going through a transition phase. Trying to get adequate water supply in our county has been a challenge. (Thanks to Mark Gearlds for all the work he did to try help us). So we are starting our tank/pump and will be moving the mattress business to Lamb upon completion. We are now only a few months out. (Thanks to our new sprinkler contractor at Jason Smith Construction who has come in to clean up the job that didn’t go so well by the last guys. It’s well on its way now and they have been truly professional).
On another positive note, our sofa business has blossomed. Ashlee and Quinna do a great job. We are so appreciative of everyone trusting us on sofas like you have on mattresses. Truckloads of top brands arriving literally daily. Best, Craftmaster, Flexsteel, Ashley, and more.
Bedroom suits have been top of the board lately with both our “in-stock” and “special order” sets booming. We sold 12 bedroom sets today alone. What a blessing.
