Happy New Year! This month, we're proud to highlight Heath Jordan, whose commitment to strong training practices is helping shape the future of SK Food Group. Heath believes that “Production wins the day, standards win the year, and training wins the future.” It’s a mindset he brings to every task—whether it’s a basic pre‑op activity or building complex data‑driven processes that prevent major losses. To Heath, great training is the foundation that keeps our plants moving forward.
Heath joined SK in April 2025 as a Pack Tech II, part of the core group supporting the startup of the packaging area at our Tennessee facility. Since then, he has taken ownership of the Fuji wrapper training program and is now developing training systems focused on centerlines, CIL checklists, and Individual Development Plans. With 27 years in the food industry—including roles in maintenance, logistics, operations, continuous improvement, and training—Heath brings a deep understanding of how strong processes improve results.
Manufacturing Manager Matthew Craig describes Heath as “local talent we are fortunate to have hired.” Matthew highlights Heath’s extensive background in continuous improvement, root‑cause investigation, Kaizen, and 5S. He also notes that Heath is a forward thinker who constantly looks for opportunities to make processes stronger and more efficient.
Sr. Plant Director Damon Dalgleish adds that Heath has taken on the major responsibility of facilitating the Pack Tech Tier Program. This includes conducting assessments, managing training matrices, and nominating associates who are ready for advancement. His work directly supports building a skilled team capable of managing the Fuji Overwrapper fleet—helping associates grow their abilities and reach new levels within the company.
Heath recently traveled to Seattle for hands‑on training with the Fuji team. The impact of that visit is already visible in improved operations. Even with these added responsibilities, Heath continues to support morning setup and spend his day helping Fuji operators on the floor. As the operator team strengthens under his guidance, the program will create even more value—freeing Heath to focus on building the next wave of skilled talent.
Outside of work, Heath enjoys spending time outdoors fishing with his family—his wife, twin 7‑year‑old boys, and 22‑year‑old daughter. Be sure to send your congratulations and kudos to Heath throughout the month.
