We’ve all been there…
Standing in a big box lumber store, digging through pile after pile of 2x4s and 4x4s trying to find ONE that isn’t warped, twisted, or looks like it’s been sitting there for three years.

That doesn’t happen at Cedar Depot.

We mill our own lumber in small batches, so every piece is selected with intention. No digging. No guessing. No settling.

Our wood comes from local trees that have had time to mature, not rushed, not cut too early. And that difference? You can see it. You can feel it.

We love getting to share our love of cedar with our neighbor Station 1909. This piece of wood was beautiful and now it has a new purpose of lining the wheelchair ramp. You all go give them a follow and make sure you stay tuned for their opening.

Did you fall for our April Fool’s post yesterday? 😏
Don’t worry… we would NEVER give up cedar.🌲
Today was a big day at the shop. We had the privilege of supplying a local builder with 20 beautiful cedar pillars for an exciting project right here in Tioga. There’s nothing better than seeing our wood become part of something bigger in our own community.
We can’t wait to share progress photos along the way and, of course, the final reveal. Stay tuned… this one is going to be special. 🔨✨

🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
After a lot of reflection… we’ve seen the light. 🌱
Effective immediately, we will be transitioning away from cedar and moving to 100% all-natural compressed soy builds.
That’s right. No more cutting down trees.
Did y’all know… cutting cedar actually kills the tree? 😳
Yeah… we didn’t either. And once we found out, we just couldn’t stand behind it anymore.
From now on, every pergola, raised bed, and board will be crafted from sustainably sourced, ethically compressed soy. Strong, renewable, and… probably smells like tofu.
We’re proud to take this bold step toward a greener future. 💚
