Coburn Wood Design

Coburn Wood Design Custom Woodworking and Crafts I am a band director and hobby woodworker in Texarkana, TX. I have always had a fascination with building things. Sanders.

I had an extensive Lego collection growing up and always tried to help my dad when he was working on something around the house. I began woodworking in high school where I took wood shop class with Mr. I learned a lot from him, from building simple sawhorses to children's playhouses. For my final project in shop I built a music stand that I still have today. Over the past few years I have begun co

llecting tools and building a home shop. The items on this page have been hand made by me in my home shop. I hope you enjoy them, as I have greatly enjoyed making them.

Sometimes it’s hard to see progress on a day-to-day basis. I occasionally get frustrated when I feel like my woodworking is not progressing like I want it to. This popped up on my timeline from 7 years ago. My first workbench I built. It was pallet wood and other repurposed wood I had acquired. Swipe to see my current bench I just finished a few months ago. Night and day quality and craftsmanship, and something I can be proud of!

My father-in-law had an old wrench with a broken handle he wanted to refurbish. I turned a new handle out of ash for him. The hard part was the taper in the handle. I used 3 different sized drill bits to step down the inside of the handle and then used a rat tail file to smooth it out until it fit perfectly. Fun little project.

Guitar stand done! This was a fun project and glad I got to build it for my former teacher!

Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to get my shop back up and going but it’s been slow progress. If you would like to support me, please consider visiting my Etsy store and purchasing a shirt or coffee mug. No pressure, but I would greatly appreciate it!
