Brandywine Builds isn't just about building pieces of furniture, we strive to build genuine relationships with our clients everyday.

This is a very special piece requested from us, the client had asked us for a custom letter board to serve not only as a surprise gift for newlyweds, but it will also serve as a prop for the wedding photos! We had a lot of fun making this piece because it allowed us to step out of our comfort zone in the workshop. It was a nice challenge to dive in to more intricate cuts and detail work!

About 8 months ago I made my first step to creating my own business. I had been saving for months for a new computer, in between bills and every day expenses I was finally able to scrape together enough money to purchase the one I had been looking at. With what some would call a down payment on a new car, I knew I had made the right decision to start creating the future that I dreamed of.
This laptop let's me run all of the programs that are necessary to run my business and the programs that help me create and design not only my ideas, but others as well.

We're in Illinois this week! These shelves were made for a client that needed storage for her wall because of how little space she had for all of her belongings. We love the blackened steel idea because it adds a warmer feeling to the piece and goes really well with a dark stain!

Theodor Seuss Geisel, born on March 2, 1904, was an American author, political cartoonist, poet, animator, book publisher, and artist, known for authoring more than 60 children's books under the pen name Doctor Seuss. His work includes some of the most popular children's books of all time, selling over 600 million copies and being translated into more than 20 languages by the time of his death.

Dr. Seuss was much more than a writer of children's books. He proved that creativity of any kind can go beyond all forms of boundaries and still find success.

Pyrography is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks occurring from the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. The term means "writing with fire", from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing). It can be practiced using specialized modern pyrography tools, or using a metal implement heated in a fire, or even sunlight concentrated with a magnifying lens.

One cool thing about these tools are they aren't very expensive either and you can pick one up from most craft stores! I use a small wood burning pen made by that I picked up from a local and it does the job great! I'm still new to the whole pyrography thing, but its amazing what kind of works of art can be created on a wooden canvas and I'm excited to keep learning!

Another custom dispenser! This piece was created as a birthday gift for a family friend of the client, they requested a white washed wood and only wanted the brand name on the front. We also added a handle to the top for multiple uses; it creates an easier way to carry as well as works as a reinforcement for the bottle to rest against. You can see it was a nice addition to their at home bar!

"From a little spark may burst a flame."

One of the tools we use to create unique accents and effects to some of our pieces is a Blowtorch!

A Blowtorch is a fuel burning tool used for applying flame and heat in various applications, you're most likely to see them in metalworking such as welding and cutting. Early blowtorches used liquid fuel in refillable containers attached directly to the lamp. Now a days blowtorches are mostly fueled by gas using disposable or refillable canisters, like the one you see here!

You can see and example of how we use our blowtorch to create an authentic finish on our products by checking out the liquor tap from yesterdays post! Its almost like painting with a flame while trying not to burn the whole place down!

Not only do we make great furniture here at Brandywine Builds, but we also enjoy creating functional detail pieces as well!

This piece is one of our liquor taps! The amount of popularity these have shown is amazing, once we created our first one people were already lining up to order theirs. The coolest part about any of our liquor taps is they are completely customizable! From the size and color of the tap to the brand of alcohol (or any type of drink) and name burned in to the face, and the best part is its all done by hand!

Okay guys we need your help! What should we post for Friday's to finish up the week?
