Hey guys!

I was finally able to finish up this little fireplace for my room.

I decided to paint the legs brass as well as the frame on the front. The harpin legs are 8 or 9 inces tall. I wanted to raise it up to be able to see the if from my bed. I think the marble look and brass really helps to tie it into the other pieces in my room. I am thinking about changing out the mirror.

I love this project because I always see them on Marketplace for “not matching” the people’s decor anymore…

I love the idea of being able to customize & update them as most of them are sold in neutral colors or wood tones. This is a great way to update the old orange oak ones or to just switch them up to match your decor or give them a new bold, fun color.

It also really gives the room a warm and cozy vibe, perfect for winter!

Also a lesson to me that mishaps (my rainy day shennanigans) can still turn out to be even better than originally expected 😎

Replacing worn out drawer bottoms on an older oak dresser. Just a few repairs and she will be good for another 50 years 😂

My attempt to paint on the extremely rainy day last week resulted in a bubbled veneer on this little fireplace.

I had to think outside the box for a way to salvage it.

I found some vinyl spackle and created the texture of stone I thought I could cover the bubbles while still keeping with the look of my room. I decided on a white faux marble.
I have marble tops on my other furniture in there, so I think it will blend well.

My first time attempting this. I think she came out pretty good, and learned a new technique in the process.

Adding some legs to raise her a little higher and painted them brass to match the other hardware in my room as well.

Removing the dreaded black water ring!!

Its obvious that her previous owner had a love for plants and must have run out of places to put them 😂😂

Please know that your furniture is not a loss because of it.. it can be saved!

Gentle sanding (going from 80-120) making sure not to burn through the veneer.

Applied wood bleach, you can already see such a huge difference! May need a few applications.

Stay tuned to see if we can get them all out, I am on a mission! 😂😭

Adding some final touches to this cute little antique oak desk that I posted before.

I’ve added a flower wood appliqué, cork board, dry erase board, new chalkboard, and I’m adding a desk pad/mouse pad to the top.

Having these features brings this old world beauty up to speed for modern times.

What was once likely a writing desk for soldier letters and post cards is now a landing pad for a laptop and studies.

Just finishing up this solid maple 4-drawer dresser.

I used a weathered oak stain to bring out the unique grain and give it a rustic, worn feel. Finished in satin and paired with antique brass cup pulls for a timeless look. Not perfect, but is anything ever really perfect? Drawers glide smoothly
