Gosh, where do we even begin? Danielle, you’ve been here through it all. From day one until today, your vision, compassion, and clarity have been a guiding light for everyone at the Family Justice Center — the staff, our partners, and especially those we serve.

You have truly been the heartbeat of this place and such a dear friend to all of us. Your impact here reaches far beyond words, and the lives you’ve touched will continue to reflect the care and dedication you poured into this work every single day.

While we are going to miss you terribly, we are also so excited for this next chapter and all that’s ahead for you. You deserve every good thing coming your way.

We love you, sweet friend, and we thank you for everything you’ve been to us over these last few years. The Family Justice Center will always carry a piece of you with it.

Yesterday afternoon our Executive Director, Denise West, had the opportunity to meet with Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee and express our gratitude for their unwavering support for victim service providers in Tennessee and specifically, the Family Justice Centers who serve victims of domestic and sexual violence every day. We sincerely appreciate the work of the state legislature and Governor Lee to keep Tennessee Family Justice Centers funded and make victim services a priority in the state of Tennessee. Many thanks also to our friend, Mayor Joe Brooks, whose unwavering support of the difficult and challenging work of the FJC makes our jobs a little easier. Our sincere thanks to all of you for making the FJCs not only a reality but a priority.

Last week at the State Family Justice Center Conference in Chattanooga, we had the pleasure on honoring our agency partner, Community Health of East Tennessee Family Services, with the Collaborator Award. This honor is reserved for those partners whose work embodies the spirit of collaboration among partner agencies to serve victims of domestic and sexual violence and elder abuse and directly impacts the ability of the FJC to assist in times of crisis. CHET is an amazing partner, and we truly could not do the work of creating safe places for the victims of crime that we serve without them. These people are ROCKSTARS! They are 100% dedicated to facilitating safe and healthy outcomes for victims and providing safe shelter as a first step on a journey toward healing and a better life. Thank you for all you do, friends. It is a pleasure and an honor to work with you every day!

Last week at the State Family Justice Center Conference in Chattanooga, we had the privilege of honoring Miranda Adams, ICJR and Domestic Violence Coordinator for the 8th Judicial District Attorney General's Office, with the Collaborator Award. This honor is reserved for those whose work embodies the spirit of collaboration with partners and community members to bring about positive change. Miranda joined the FJC team in July of 2022 and since then has worked tirelessly to build a network of partner agencies in East Tennessee, Southwestern Virginia, and Southeastern Kentucky to facilitate information sharing in order to further protect the rights of victims of domestic and sexual violence and other crimes. These relationships impact the work that we do on a daily basis. Miranda is an incredible partner, and we are so blessed to have her as a part of our team. Congratulations, Miranda, on this much-deserved honor!
