Refinishing a 90s hope chest for a customer got me thinking…

How many of us Gen X women are still carrying hopes that expired years ago?

The dreams we were told to have.
The roles we were expected to fill.
The life we thought we’d be living by now.

This old chest isn’t becoming what it was.

It’s becoming something better.

My son had found this piece a few years back & it’s been sitting collecting dust.

So I finally decided to drag it out and finish sanding down this solid pine chest.

Added a rich brown stain & a pop of green on the inside.
Great for storing blankets, or whatever you like.

Even though I don't work in the field I got a degree in(way back when-fine arts/graphic design) a paintbrush always seems to find its way into my hand. Giving the kitchen a refresh with some paint. It's incredible what a fresh coat of paint can do 🎨
