Caution long, vulnerable story.
In 2014 I had a double mastectomy and while home recovering I found my passion for paint which resulted in a little shop called “Another Time Around.”
Painting furniture became my therapy and thankfully it still is today. While I closed my shop and started working with adults with special needs, I continue to do custom painting for people I met in my shop over the years, referrals and pick up pieces here and there to refurbish and sell, thereby continuing the paint therapy!
I say all of this because I have spent the last 2 months of my life living in fear that I could loose my job, feeling all the feels of grieving a death, when in reality there has not been a death. Anger at circumstances out of my control. Frustration because there is nothing I can do to right the ship. Such deep sadness for pain and suffering of many others caught up in the mess that we’ve found ourselves in. I have painted my way through tears, nervousness and anxiety. During this time I have had many moments of profound peace, the kind that can only come from God. I will get through this, my life will undoubtedly look different. I have been reminded daily that I need to lean into my faith in the one who knows me, created me and loves me.
If you’re going through something, anything, I hope you know God. And, I hope you have something in your life you can turn to: exercise, reading, knitting, just something to focus your mind on.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
If you are looking for a special piece of furniture I have several places I source from and I’m happy to help.
