Here is my latest pen, made from one of the most challenging materials I've ever worked with.
Mammoth tooth!

Yes, it's the real deal, as it smelled worse than any other bone I've ever worked with, and had to be turned mostly with an angle grinder. It has spectacular natural colors, with small crystal-like veins running through it that shimmer in the light.
It's mounted on a rollerball kit, with chrome and gold accents

Here is a bottle stopper that I finished the other night.
It is blue dyed boxelder burl, with 5 barnacles and 2 seashells cast in blue resin. I picked up the shells and barnacles while in St Augustine last summer. The stopper itself is stainless steel, so it will remain super durable for years to come.

It's Small Business Saturday, and Christmas just around the corner!
I'll be in my shop for the next few weeks, and can have custom gifts made and shipped by the holidays.
I'll also be offering free shipping on any order placed between today and Monday evening, along with $10 off of my custom ring dishes.
$40 for one without a stone inlay, and $50 for one with an inlay. I have turquoise, mother of pearl, and smokey quartz available.

Here are the final pictures of the Coffee/Side Table set I made as my first custom furniture commission.
They are made from maple that was stained grey, and have steel bases that I welded and finished myself.
I had a blast making these, and plan on making another identical coffee table soon, as it hardly flexes despite the cantilever.
These are also my own original design, that started with a sketch and 3D model, from which I pulled the measurements.
They all measure 19" tall, and the coffee table is 24"x48", and side tables 20"x24".

Made this pair of ring dishes a few weeks ago, and just got around to editing the photos. They are made of Redwood Burl (left), and Curly Koa (right), and both have turquoise inlays and ebony finials. The redwood is old growth, and difficult to get ahold of.
They were purchased through my Etsy, and shipped to California. You can find my shop via the link on my page, or searching JakesMakesCo.
I plan on making more of these in the future, including some with a Mother of Pearl inlay.
