This 1865 Victorian Farm was built 3 years before Memorial Day was established.

Memorial Day originated on May 5, 1868, as "Decoration Day". Established by Union veteran Gen. John A. Logan, it was created as a nationwide day to decorate the graves of Civil War soldiers with flowers. It became an official federal holiday in 1971.

In honor of our heroes, I have decorated this lovely porch every year I’ve been blessed to call it home. 🇺🇸♥️
