Well. the Cape Cod porch rocker has been returned to its owner who was ecstatic to see it fully renewed, recaned and wood oiled. He didn’t want the back recaned so I just did some patch strands to replace broken binder. I didn’t want to stain the patches as the original cane is getting brittle and benefited more from the thick coat of oil.

Well the repairs to the old split up chairs are done. Only giveaway is where I had to sand a little wood. Of course it never takes the stain as the original finish. My drilling was freehand and a couple spots where the drill tip spun out of the location of original holes. So the drilling leaves something to be desired but shouldn’t have too much effect on the weaving. The second picture is the chair that had the total broken off piece of wood split down the middle of the cane hole perforations. Can barely see that any repair was made. The first picture was a 1/4 broken off and several chunks of wood between the holes were all broken off and missing but most all of them have been restored. Accidentally missed a couple minor spots.

Well this set of 3 old chairs is so low I have to stay hunched over it to weave. So time for the multi adjustable frame jig to raise the chair and tilt it a bit towards me. Much better. I forgot one piece in my workshop to elevate the chair a few more inches. But this is an improvement from what it was.

Sending this teak plantation deck chair hone Thursday. Finally finished it. The wood was so dry it just kept sucking in the teak oil. Glad to send it home. Took up a lot of shop space. Now to get back to my other chairs.

Well finished weaving to Windsor arm chairs with fibre rush. Still need to screw the back bracket and arms back to the seat frame and flush cut it stain it and then shellac seal the fibre rush to provide a degree of protection of minor spills or water stains.

Well finished all 6 and saturated cord with scotch guard. Owner loved the pics. Evidently the person the client got the table and chair set from is going into assisted living and giving the last 2 chairs for a total set of 8. So I’m getting 2 more chairs to do. And another client with a set of six waiting in the wings.
