I’m presenting the SAR Flag Presentation Certificate to the new Chick-fil-A store in Hendersonville, TN. They do a great job of presenting, lighting, and seeing that their flag is properly retired.

Here is a picture taken today of the Nashville National Veterans Cemetery with thousands of graves with American Flags placed on each.
Yesterday, it was a different sight when Billy Weston and I from our SAR Chapter along with hundreds of Scouts and Scout leaders placing flags in torrential downpours.
Rain or shine, the Scouts are faithful in their labor of love.
Take time tomorrow to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice of their lives for us.

Tommy Garrott Aquatics Facility Team Life Saving Medal Picture - by Richard Perkins

On August 24, 2025, a swimmer in the aquatic facility in Gallatin Tn. became distressed, after entering the pool and could not stay afloat and began to go under. The closest lifeguard quickly entered the pool and began getting the victim to the pool's edge and who had begun to complain about having chest pains. Three other team members retrieved a backboard to aid in removal of the victim, patient assessment, AED retrieval, and EMS notification. The patient was breathing when transported to the hospital. Compatriot Clarence Watson is pictured at left along with his granddaughter(with the certificate), who participated in the life saving rescue.
