This little table put me through it. 😂

It came in literal pieces… but it belonged to a customer who wanted to see it brought back to life, and I’m so glad we did. 🤎

There is something really satisfying about getting a piece back to where it’s solid, functional and beautiful again — especially when it has clearly already lived a whole life before it ever made its way to me.

Customer customs are officially wrapping up - I’ve got a few more to finish out, and then Revivals is heading into a new chapter that I am VERY excited to finally share with you guys soon. 👀

Finishing is the fun part. Repairing is the important part. 🔨

Everybody wants a piece that looks beautiful when it’s done, but I also want it to be something you can actually use for years and years. These pieces have already survived this long — they deserve a little spa day.

The dramatic before and after posts are fun to look at, but it’s kinda crazy when you stop and think about what 90% of the work actually is before you ever get to the pretty part.

Pulling bad veneer slices piece by piece with a tweezers. Rebuilding missing pieces. Re-fixing old repairs. Sanding. Gluing. Shaping. Sanding again. 😂

The shiny, creative finishing is definitely more glamorous… but all of this ugly middle stuff is really where the craftsmanship lives. I’m so blessed to have learned these skills throughout the years because it’s so much more than throwing on some paint or stain in the end. 💕

A disclaimer: I’m not scared of mice. Things don’t really gross me out — especially after working in estates, antiques, and old furniture for as long as I have. 😂

BUT I genuinely don’t know how the entire south side of Strawberry Point didn’t hear me screaming at the top of my lungs when I flipped this table upside down and the resident living in the leg RAN UP MY ARM AND INTO MY BAGGY SHIRT.

I think I can safely say I’ve now met my Lord and Savior, and He sent me back down. 🤣

Anyway, I think it’s time to go home now. 🐭🐁🪤

Small towns don’t stay alive by accident. Behind the shops, restaurants, markets, and gathering places we love are people who decided their town was worth betting on.

For the grand finale… vintage lovers, lock in on this one. 🤎

Warm, mid-tone honey brown with all of the beautiful variation you only get from an older piece — and it is SO good with cottage-inspired interiors, collected antiques, brass, old artwork, heart shelves, quilts, goose decor… all of it. 😭

I especially love the turned legs, stretcher base, beautiful drawer fronts and all of those little original details that give it so much personality. The doors and drawers function wonderfully, and at nearly 5 feet wide, it would make an incredible buffet, entry piece, dining room cabinet or statement piece beneath a gallery wall.

Because she’s vintage, she does have a story to tell. There is a circular burn mark in the veneer on the top that cannot be completely removed without risking the original veneer. And you know what? I’m okay with that. Sometimes the pieces in our homes get to have a little history, character and imperfection. 🤎

He may come in a little short, but he’s got plenty of personality.

This smaller six-drawer dresser has beautifully dovetailed drawers, warm wood fronts, and a moody brown-gray finish that is a total chameleon — it shifts warmer, cooler, browner, or grayer depending on the light.

At just 27½” tall, he’d be such a good fit under a window, in a smaller bedroom, as a low-profile dresser, or even styled as a console.

This six-drawer dresser has been refreshed while keeping the natural variation and aged detail that makes it special. Finished with antique-inspired brass cup pulls, it has a substantial, timeless look that would work beautifully in a bedroom, entryway, or living space.

It is a vintage piece and does have a veneer chip on the left side, along with some slight waviness/unevenness in the color of the veneer across the top, so it’s not perfect — but that’s reflected in the price. 💕

Let’s talk about A.I. and antiques… 🤔

Going forward, we will not be using any AI generated images. When someone is spending their hard-earned money on a vintage piece, I believe they deserve to see the real thing — its real color, real finish, real texture, imperfections and all. Vintage is one of a kind.

I recently ordered paint from a company using nothing but AI-generated swatches and samples, and the actual colors looked nothing like them. PAINT SWATCHES. 🙈

Revivals was built around keeping good furniture out of landfills, rescuing what already exists, and giving it another life. The more I thought about it, the more this just didn’t feel aligned with that mission — environmentally or creatively.

I’m not anti-technology. The world is changing FAST, and I use plenty of technology every day. For now, this is what feels right for us- you’ll have to ignore the shop messes in the background of my progress pictures though. 🤣
