Blee Dream It Create It We lose ourselves in the things we love. We find ourselves there too. Sharing inspiration and life creatively through Gardening! Writing! Painting! Journaling!

I have developed a unique painting style -- it is painted furniture yet in a style unique to me....no piece is alike - no color the same --the furniture has character! Don't expect it to perfectly smooth or without a few marks -- but do expect to be created with love and hard work -- giving it that style of it's own.. .What started as a hobby I loved has expanded into sharing with others who love

old created new... who love reusing objects in a form of art...who love creating new pieces from parts of old...it truly is a form of saving nature...and those who know me know my love of nature. Please NOTE -- I travel to Jacksonville, Florida and Springfield, Missouri often -- if you see something you like -- we can work out delivery -- eventually I hope to have a place to sell in both locations as well as the Quad Cities

Reflections Through a Mirror

I love placing a mirror behind a beautiful vignette — allowing the scene to widen, to deepen, to become more complete before my eyes.

But as I shared this little decorating moment today, my thoughts wandered.

How often do we really see the complete picture?

The pain behind a smile.
The cold beneath the warmth.
The shadow hovering still as night.
The fear quietly fighting within.

A mirror gives us access to another side, another angle, another reflection — but still, not the within.

Maybe that is the reminder.

To keep searching gently for the hidden truth.
To be patient.
To understand that what we see is only part of the story.

I am patient as I watch new growth peek through dark soil.
And I must learn to be just as patient as another soul works through the ever-emerging soil of their own life.

The mirror offers a reflection.
But only love, grace, and time reveal what lives beneath.

“Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.” — blee

My quote today.

And it feels especially appropriate for what is coming soon.

The Blee Book is almost here.

What a journey this has been.

Patience. Persistence. Thinking outside the box. And perhaps most importantly, having people who believe in you when you begin to doubt yourself.

It truly takes a village.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned through this process is not to hold so tightly to a dream that you cannot bend when a new path appears.

I originally imagined The Blee Book as a hardcover coffee-table book. Perhaps that dream still waits somewhere down the road.

But what is emerging now feels beautifully right.

The Blee Book will be created in a spiral-bound format, making it easy to hold, easy to read, and easy to write in. More than a book, I hope it becomes a personal companion for reflection.

Each essay includes discussion questions designed to encourage you to explore your own thoughts, dreams, memories, and hopes. There will be space for your own reflections—your own journey.

You may choose to write in its pages, share it with a friend, use it for a book club or discussion group, or simply keep it nearby as a gentle reminder of the wisdom, beauty, and hope that live within each of us.

I will keep you posted as we move closer to publication. When it becomes available, copies will be ordered directly through me, and I’ll share all the details as soon as they are ready.

For now, my heart is simply grateful.

And excited.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.

All bouquets are beautiful to me.

Created by a florist or hand-picked by a child.

Given with love or in search of forgiveness. Celebrating a life that was — or one just beginning.

Each uniquely beautiful.

This one touched my heart to its core this year. Filled with daisies, roses, and carnations, with my favorite color of green surrounding them — framing and filling like water in a stream flowing gently through pebbles.

I chose to preserve each of the flowers this time. Their final home is still floating through my mind. Maybe a personal collage, or perhaps small gifts for the givers.

Like the soft, cottony petals of a dandelion, they will land gently within a beautiful creation.

Gratitude and beauty. Preserved for a lifetime.

Remember those you love, and those who have loved you. Simple acts of kindness preserve a soul too.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.

An Update on Publishing My Book…

No real update yet.

In one respect, that makes me sad.
In another, it makes me more persistent.

Through much research, I’ve learned that one important part of finding an agent and publisher is building a strong following and community of readers.

For that reason, I want to first say thank you.

Thank you to every person who follows along, encourages me to continue writing, and shares these reflections with me.
Especially those who quietly let me know they relate — reminding all of us that we are never truly alone in what we feel.

When I ask myself why I want this book published, the answer always comes back the same:

To share life’s ups and downs, hopes and dreams.
To share faith, nature, creativity, and the gentle teachings found all around us if we pause long enough to notice them.

The book was professionally formatted for traditional publishing rather than Amazon self-publishing, though I may eventually choose that path as well.

But before making any final decisions, I wanted to ask something small of you.

If these writings or photographs have ever inspired, comforted, or encouraged you, I would deeply appreciate you sharing them, commenting, or simply passing the page along to someone else who may need a little hope too.

And if you prefer simply reading quietly from afar, please know I treasure that too.
The silent followers matter just as much as the visible ones.

Every single one of you has been part of this journey with me.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.

Hope in the Messes

My favorite gardens are the ones with a little mess.
A pot overturned.
Several stacked pots — some with dirt, some empty.
Laying or standing.
Plants patiently waiting to be planted.

All the “messes” waiting with anticipation… patience… hope.

Hope….

That fleeting emotion floating within the clouds.
Peeking through branches like sunlight playing peek-a-boo through the trees.

Hope.

That feeling of longing and excitement at the same time.

New growth peeking through dark soil. Buried.

At times ready to burst through with unexpected beauty, and other times slow and steady — cautious in its arrival.

I have thought a lot about hope lately.
It’s one thing my soul survives on.

Maybe that’s why “messy” gardens connect with me.
They quietly inspire hope through their perfect imperfections.

For life is full of messes, and with hope we find the beauty that gently steadies our wandering souls.

I hope you always find yours…

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.

Words elude me, even thoughts.

Hidden in the shadows of intertwining branches,
finding protection among the swaying leaves.

Heaviness — the weight of boulders.
Decisions buried deeply within a worn, tired soul.

No place of coolness, only smoldering heat.

Everything blocked…

And then the butterfly lands briefly —
wings fluttering with anticipation before resting once more…

Friends gardening together — tending soil and souls.

One shares, “I have given up hope.”
Another discovers a hand-painted rock, hands it over with love, and whispers gently,
“This is for you.”

Hope.

There are those days when one emotion is stronger than another…
when hope feels lost,
when strength surrounds a heart wrapped in boulders…

Yet love silently waits
with a blanket to replace the rocks.

When a rock speaks hope.
And a butterfly lands gently.
When even a flower named Devil’s Trumpet blooms with beauty stronger than its poison.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.

Still me.

Year after year.

Visualizing life within something discarded.

A broken fountain…
becoming a place for plants.

A discarded piece of palm…
transformed into a cozy place for succulents.

And a broken soul…
still finding hope.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.
