Project Spotlight: Sushi Koko

We’re excited to share our project with Intelligent Designs in Monroe, Louisiana for Sushi Koko, Chef Cory Bahr’s restaurant.

Designed to resemble a restaurant in the Ginza district of Tokyo, the space blends warm textures, refined details, and a polished hospitality atmosphere.

Chef Cory Bahr has been recognized both regionally and nationally, with honors including Food Network Star finalist, Chopped! Champion, and recognition from Food & Wine, Taste of the South, and Louisiana Cookin’.

For this project, we provided the restaurant’s custom booths along with our U44518 chairs. Both were upholstered in beautiful CF Stinson and Momentum Textiles fabrics and vinyl, bringing comfort, durability, and elevated design to the space.

Think contour booths are only for diners, cafeterias, and break rooms? Think again.

At Tapori, a vibrant Indian restaurant in Washington, DC, our contour booths take on a whole new look. Named one of Eater’s 15 Best New Restaurants in America in 2025, Tapori brings together warmth, color, and rich design character to create a dining atmosphere that feels both lively and refined.

For this project, Tapori features our Contour Premium Booths with upholstered backs and custom-stained wood caps designed to complement the seat laminate, giving a classic silhouette a more elevated, polished feel.

The result is a fresh take on a familiar seating style; one that feels just as at home in a design-forward restaurant as it does in a traditional diner setting.

With the right materials and details, contour booths can be completely reimagined for today’s hospitality spaces.
