The ettegere from my previous posts, lightly dragged,stippled,with Colfax and Fowler inspired Trompe l'Oeil recessed panels around the base, and female bamboo accents on the supports is complete and in it's new home with a display of*English Regecy soft paste and a few Lady Anne Gordon porcelain vegetables on it's shelves!

A detail shot of the completed ettegere. I gave the walls in the room a subtle strie glaze over a medium gray base coat over ten years ago,guess you could say that this is an ongoing project!

That faux bamboo etegere that I've been working on has been stippled and dragged. Today's project, line work and bambooing in green.

That ettegere that came into the studio last week. Cleaned,sanded,primed,and two base coats completed. Now on to the fun parts of the project!!!

The surprise is that each one is lined in a coordinated paper! The largest one would be a great place to store remote controls or note cards etc.,the smaller ones are perfect for jewellery or desk equipment or anything else you could think of. What would you store in them?

Just a thought. if you're one of those people who hate so called "brown" furniture, a less expensive alternative to replacement would be to send it to my studio for a facelift, i.e., a glazed finish, faux finish, gilding, or even a high gloss paint finish in a fresh new color to co-ordinate with your new redecorating scheme. You might be surprised with the results! :-)

Today's challenge , clean up and refresh a pair of Louis XVI benches purchased at a recent Doyle Gallery auction by my client without overdoing it.
