Okay. Many have asked. So here it is. And, there’s SO much more to be said, but we’re giving the synopsis right now, and I’d be happy to sit down and give you the full version over some coffee ☕…‘cause who doesn’t like coffee and stories?! 🤷♂️
The short version is that through a number of prayerful encounters and moments, with well-timed conversations and insights all laid out by the Lord, my family and I have been called out of the woodworking world and into full-time ministry as well as into a crazy season of being a part of a church replant–a new work in an historic location: Fishersville Community Church!
And so, for the last nearly-four months, while finishing up some amazing projects with some amazing clients, co-workers, and an “okay” construction boss (, ), I have been settling into my role as the Director of Creative Arts and Groups (i.e. worship, music, production, discipleship, small groups, etc.).
This is, for me and my family, nothing apart from a direct calling on my life from the Lord. The call into ministry is something that has been placed on my heart and in my mind for a very long time, but something that was surrounded by ambiguity–what kind of ministry? Where? How? When? And my prayer had been, for all of these years, that my response, when truly called, would be, “Yes, Lord.” But instead, it was 🤔 “Are you sure, God? Me?? There??? That??? Oof…” 😬 😅
That’s why I’m thankful for the Lord working through so many conversations–especially the ones with my wife. Suffice it to say that through her, lots of prayer, and the myriad of other talks/prayers with pastors, family, and friends, the Lord brought clarity to the situation and I have (finally) submitted to His call on my life.
This is but the beginning. And so, I would ask each of you to be praying for our family, for FCC, and please, please, PLEASE: pray for me. Pray above all for wisdom, for a sensitive heart and mind to the Lord’s leading, and that I would be and remain dependent and obedient to that leading.
Thanks all! And please, don’t hesitate to reach out! This is an incredibly exciting transition for our family, so please join us on this journey! 🎉
