Why fill your home with things from the past? For starters, I’ll give you three good reasons …. 1) green design; 2) its bones are far superior than the cheap stuff from box stores, for example; and 3) it’s magic in its beauty and character. This kitchen is built around a US Government vintage galvanized metal 9 ft sink found for around $100 on marketplace and the antique copper cow is the perfect match for it. It may take more work to make it happen, but definitely worth it in the end.

If you want a gorgeous Christmas tree, check out Michelle’s Wreaths and Trees in Harrisonburg (and Staunton). This 11 foot beauty is adorned only with 200+ vintage mercury ornaments. Staff is great and lots of fun!

If you love orchids, The Orchid Station is a must visit! They are a wholesaler of orchids, but open to the public each Saturday, located in Barboursville. Paul gave me some pointers on keeping these beauties happy and healthy and you may even get to meet Goose the Spaniel! With their gorgeous colors, they truly bring joy to me and I’m loving them on my potting table.

This past weekend while running errands I happened upon this gorgeous pair of what looks to be antique window screen doors. Not sure where I’ll use them yet, but they may get new life in a potting shed plan swimming around in my head or maybe they’ll simply look beautiful hanging on a wall. More often than not I have no idea how I’ll use a piece when I see it…I just know I can’t leave it behind.
