Hello again, friends! When I switched from android to iPhone a few months back, I lost access to this account and just figured out how to sync instagram again. Here’s a look at some projects I’ve finished in the past few months:

African Mahogany helical wine rack on a lazy Susan.

Shaker style door panel for two walnut bookshelves.

Dutch style tool chest (all joinery hand cut)

Butcher block style walnut countertops.

Wow, words fail me right now.... So unbelievably honored to have two of my projects in the finalist round of the Architecture and Design Awards for the Custom Furniture category.

Pics of the two projects if you swipe. The coffee table is the collab between and I!

Vernacular style, "staked" chair in Black Walnut. Similar to a Windsor chair, the legs and spindles terminate in a solid seat. Unlike a Windsor, this form is less ornate and refined, but still striking.

Designing furniture is one of my favorite parts of the process. Designing it with (and for!) is a whole next level of fun.

Karen asked me to mimic the sleek look of a cast aluminum table she found, but to craft it in walnut with brass ferrules. The goal was to make it look "sexy", and I gotta say I think we nailed it.

Solid Missouri black walnut. Each leg individually turned, no pattern lathes here. Deep chamfers all around lighten the look of the beefy top (1.75“). The chamfers are gently sculpted, by hand, to transitioning the radius of the legs.

A sampling of some of the beautiful, domestic hardwoods I work with.

If your design firm would like a sample board like this, let me know! Each piece is attached magnetically, so you can easily present the sample to your clients, or hold the pieces against fabric or paint samples.

Lift-top, solid cherry coffee table. 24x40 table top, extends to comfortable height for a laptop or meal.

This piece was built on spec as part of a collaboration with the lift hardware manufacturer. There are a few very minor cosmetic spots, so I am offering this table at a DEEP discount. $900, free local delivery in the St. Louis area.

New furniture isn't all I do!

My client bought this vintage bench, and it needed a little TLC.

Some heavy scrubbing with Teak-o-Bright, sanding, and a few coats of their Matte Teak varnish really brought this bench back to life. Hopefully it has another 40+ years of life left in it (with maintenance of course).

My client had an odd sized dining room, and custom designing was the best way to go to meet their needs. 92“x32", solid hard maple throughout with tapered legs. Matching bench seats three comfortably and slides beneath the table. Mortise and tenon joints provide the main structure. Painted in "Un-teal we meet again", finished with a clear satin top coat.

My adaptation of a 1950s Dunbar desk designed by Edward Wormley. The client request a blonde wood which would be very sturdy and very durable. Hard maple was the obvious choice. While the original desk was veneered, this interpretation is solid maple throughout, with rift sawn Missouri cherry drawer bottoms for a hidden pop of color.

(Minor filtering applied to remove a green tinge in the reflective light. The client's office is surrounded by beautiful wooded scenes)
