Today’s piece is quite festive! The grain and the way this tree grew formed a heart in the middle of this cherry table. It’s something special to see, especially with Valentine’s Day right around the corner!

Did you know that woodworking and Valentine’s actually go way back? Dating back to the 17th century, traditional, intricately carved spoons were gifted by suitors to show affection. They’re called Welsh Love Spoons 🥄💗

Finished wood? Unfinished wood? We got it all.

This post showcases “Double Dog”, a table top that’s ready to go to its forever home! As well as a group I’m calling “The Triplets” a trio of beautifully burled wood. The last piece featured is a chunk of Maple that reminds me of the shape of a vintage lipstick mirror!

Stop in and see them for yourself!

What’s that? A fresh new wave of pricing around here!

In this batch we’ve got some table tops, such as the Trencherman’s table. This name comes from the word “trencher”, which was a medieval term for a stale piece of bread or wood used as a plate. This also refers to a person who is a “hearty eater”.

The next image features our $420 special! This Walnut piece shows how the tree grew with the burl on its side. This gives you a peak into the life and history of the tree.

Last but not least some of the most interesting shapes in our shop! We’ve got a little bit of everything for everyone.

Here’s an example made by Libby McClanahan-Hluzek. Something really cool about this piece is the wood grain chosen looks so much like fur once it’s finished!

Fresh out of the workshop!

First we have an Osage Orange baton, also known as, the toughest wood in North America. There’s some really unique grain patterns in this piece, along with the durability to last a lifetime.

Next we have a color blocked cutting board. The use of the maple, cherry, and walnut provides a nice contrast. This really makes it pop!

Check out this stunning walnut tabletop! The details really make this piece come to life. This is caused by the "crotch" of the tree, where two limbs grow close together and lead to this swirly effect within the wood.

On todays adventure of things we find in logs: old nails in this Walnut! Based on some research these nails in particular have been in production since the 1850s. They are still produced today for special uses such as historical restoration!

This particular piece became a mantel for one of our customers, once finished it showed lots of depth and color detail which really made it pop!
