While we meant to post about the , we decided to celebrate from 2020 for just a few more days...or a few more decades since we are . It may be one of the few things from 2020 we want to remember. And what is the 2021 color? It’s two colors, and we’ll call them yellow and gray. Really, really yellow. That’s a lotta yellow...
While this is our inspiration account, we are still here, finding and restoring antiques for our clients. They stayed with us through 2020, and for that, we are exceedingly grateful.

What we’ve been up to: “unpainting” wood furniture. Could the tides be turning? OH YES! This beauty: so warm, all the rich colors, and perfect anywhere. This feed isn’t about wallpaper, but if it was, we’d have all good things to say about this. Enjoy!
If you’re regretting that white chippy paint job on your antiques, give us a shout. We have a couple of openings coming up, and we’d love to help turn that piece back to its original glory. Don’t worry, we don’t do flat: it’ll look like the 100+ years of patina (you thought you lost with that paint job) actually never left.

Still clinging to that white chippy paint? It’s ok! Our goal is for you to love your furniture. We won’t judge. If it makes you smile, leave it. But if you’re ever ready, we’re here...

Sunday brunch set-up, even just for the household, and using the “good” china and silver? Yes and yes.
It took a health scare for our household to use “the good stuff” all the time. We no longer save anything only for special occasions! And no, we aren’t acknowledging this as the end of summer...from our family to yours, happy Labor Day weekend!

We love interiors, but we’ve all been inside enough. Enjoy.
The summer before I started graduate school (many years ago), a bunch of girlfriends and I rented an RV and drove from Sydney to Cairns. We took the slow road to everywhere, so it was several weeks of living in an RV before they were “decorated”. We’d park after dark and wake up on the beach. One of the best mornings of my life was getting out early and putting on my rash guard only to see a couple of cows pass between me and the ocean. When we can travel again, maybe the shoppe dog can learn to surf with me...
Not really a personal sharing space for me, but sometimes, a day of restoration makes me nostalgic.

Sweet dreams are made of this...just 15 minutes. Or two hours. Who defines the power nap? Our shop dog who says two hours. Almost to the weekend and sweet dreams.

Today is a stocking day which seems perfect since it’s roughly the temperature of the surface of the sun with a thousand percent humidity. What better way to spend a Monday? Not complaining - I wouldn’t have it any other way. The installation is still in progress, but we’d love to see you!

Happy Summer! Everyday is a good day for dogs and antiques and the beach. And a view.
We are furiously working on our new retail space! Drop by or drop us a line and tell us what you’d like to see! Auction season is in full swing (with masks and social distancing which is just fine with us). We can probably find it for you. Next to drop at the shoppe: a 1930s armoire we picked up in Richmond, Virginia 25 years ago. Restored and ready for your historical home that lacks closet space. We love our old homes...but CLOSETS! We have the solution.

Note the books reflected in the mirror that are organized in a way that is pleasing to the eye by diminishing that “messy” look that can happen so often when arranging a collection: grouped by color. It’s so calming...until your significant other asks where a specific book is and you have to ask, “what was the color of the spine?” Expect to be met with a blank stare. 😅

Celebrating good news with from ! The news: a new retail space a couple of spots down from at 700 Willow Street in Springfield, Tennessee, just north of Nashville. We’ve had a space here for a few months, but soon we’ll be in an easier-to-find location. We’re in a huge, old to***co warehouse full of charm and character. More later, but now a date with a planning journal and a vesper (think the drink, not the vehicle). Happy Saturday and happy Mothers Day!

This morning, we googled “prettiest rooms”. If the Vegas strip reflects your idea of the prettiest rooms, then google nailed it. Our reaction: sweet baby Jesus NO! Make it stop!
