I love taking old furniture and giving it new life through custom painting and refinishing. You can find my pieces at Paint In My Hair Boutique just north of Downtown Spokane, where I also sell new and vintage decor and specialty gourmet foods. I take on the occasional custom job for clients, and teach lessons as well.

Headed to Round stop yesterday (per Dixie’s ‘s reminder), and it did not disappoint! First stop was - so much fun! These tiny squares annoyingly cut out half the beautiful things. I think the lighting - all the chandeliers, might have been my favorite part. Such a grand scale! I have so much respect for those who creatively pull so many diverse things together and make it look absolutely stunning!

Had to share a few of the antique/repurposed gems I saw around Waco. Have regret that I’d didn’t purchase a marmalade jar and French stoneware pot at - I was worried they wouldn’t fit - (jokes on me I’m picking up a box today to check on my flight anyway). I wonder if they ship? 😏 Sadly, Laverty’s was closed. Today I’m heading to Round Top and Junk Gypsy - they’re a great excuse to see a bit of Texas Hill Country.

New Year, new things happening! I have some MAJOR lifts changes happening for myself and my family, including returning full time to my former career in ministry. This means the 7 year journey God took me into the business of decorative arts is coming to a close. I will continue my love for painting, DIYing, and decorative expression in my home as it once started: as a creative outlet. (You will see that shift in these squares soon, I’m sure.) It’s very bittersweet- I have enjoyed my time in each of the beautiful stores I’ve been in, have met so many talented, hard working, creative and kind people. I’ve taken risks and chances I never would have taken, and I’m so much better for it. God opened doors for me to I’ve explore a whole side of myself I didn’t even know I had in me, and it has made me me more confident in myself and my ability to try and learn new things.
I’m beginning my close out sale this week with 20% off all decor. I’ve started marking down furniture as well, and will continue marking things down as I get a chance to! Come and take advantage of the markdowns while you can, It all goes away end of January!

It’s been one heck of a week weather wise around here! Make sure you have everything you need to be comfy cozy. I personally love to be surrounded by soft blankets, books that are old friends, with warm drinks in my hand. Having a little sparkle of gold and silver keeps the dreary days at bay too. Here’s to a sunnier weekend!
