The Estate of Things The Estate of Things is a blog, a retail shop and a renovation and home decor business founded by long time friends Betsy Moyer and Sarah Farrell.

Sarah and Betsy dreamed about a home decor website on a set of barstools in Southern Pines, NC in 2007. Soon after theEstateofThings.com was born. The website is a showcase of the talented efforts Sarah puts into historic renovations in her small town, as well as the constant home decor ideas, notions and inspirations the two of them gather as they build their own homes and lifestyle. has also expanded to include the full suite of products that are available for sale at the flagship brick and mortar shop located in Southern Pines, NC as well as the vintage and global collection at the MART Collective location in Venice, CA.

Week one of Interior Architecture & Design school is officially in the books. I'm starting out this program with two drawing courses. One is digital, the other is hand sketching. It might not look like much yet, but I'm feeling proud.

Oh and someone please go slap the 1998 UNCG Freshmen Art Student who decided that digital design using Photoshop (literally version 2.0) was too hard and chose to keep it analog. Lot of good that foam core Airstream camper model did me. (Really wish we had cellphone cameras back then. I even modeled a miniature pink yard flamingo.)

Sarah and Betsy dreamed up this home decor website on a set of barstools in Southern Pines, NC in 2007. Soon after, we launched a blog at TheEstateofThings.com. The blog has since been a showcase of the talented efforts Sarah puts into historic renovations in her small town as well as the constant home decor ideas, notions and inspirations the two of them gather as they build their own homes and lifestyle. Ultimately both Sarah and Betsy dreamed of one day launching The Estate of Things into a line of home decor goods for you and your home. In the Fall of 2015, we realized that dream and opened up our first brick-and-mortar in downtown Southern Pines.

Find us on the main drag, at 168 NW Broad Steet in Southern Pines, our second location that we spruced up ourselves! Today, under the TEOT umbrella, Sarah & Betsy offer retail, custom product development, design services, renovation consultation, real estate services and home staging.
