Did you know that the first 15 feet of bowling alley lanes are made out of maple?

They use the harder wood to withstand thousands of bowling ball impacts over the years. After the arrows, they transition to a less expensive pine wood, finger jointing each plank by hand.

This conference table demonstrates that unique section of the lane. Repurposed bowling alley is pretty awesome.
