I don't know about all of you, but my furniture refinishing is at a standstill when it's this freakin' hot. Even with an AC unit, sanding and stripping need ventilation which I can't get with the workshop door closed.

Since it's Thrifty Wednesday, I headed to The Master's Touch of Sneads Ferry with my neighbor, scooped up some goodies, then grabbed an early lunch at Napoli Cafe Sneads Ferry. Came home, unloaded and headed to my booth at Coastal Charm Marketplace to add some clothing, reduce my summer prices, add a new piece of furniture, and get my check 🤑💰.

I worked on the LOUIS XV DRESSER this morning. Now I'm headed out to Topsail Island Brewing to their outdoor vendor market for sourdough bread!

FINISHED:

• Added the stripes/transfers to the 2nd side
• Half the top has been sanded
• The drawers are sanded + clear coated
• Handles are cleaned and painted
• Most of the ornate side wood trim has been stripped/sanded/waxed/buffed

Still TO DO:

• Topcoat one side to seal the transfers
• Sand the other half of the top
• Decide if the top needs florals; seal
• Finish stripping/sanding/waxing/buffing the front wood trim/legs
• Strategically add small floral transfers to drawer fronts where some veneer is faded, then seal

Head's Up!
I have just acquired, from a very fun customer, a PAIR of vintage oak nightstands. Each measures 27½" x 17" x 25" high. They look like 4 drawers but are 2 deep drawers.

I know a lot of you have asked me for pairs of nightstands and while I hoped to reach out, I got a new phone and my NOTES were wiped out. Aarrgghh! 😱 😱

I plan to paint them white with shades of blue drawers and coastal k***s but I have a few other pieces to tackle first. Let me know if you are interested.

Louis XV gets a wax job!!

Woohoo! After stripping and sanding that ornate trim work, it's time to even out the wood tone. With wax, it's recommended you begin with clear. It sets the surface up to better receive the dark color. Otherwise the dark tones could glob into the unfinished wood. Always learning!!

Now it spreads like BUTTA!
