Pettis County Real Estate Company decided that every Friday in 2024 we want to take time to thank a member of our community for being an outstanding individual, fantastic at their job or for just being a nice person. Nothing is better than going out in the community and being greeted with a smiling face, pleasant conversation or a happiness vibe you just can’t deny. That being said, our thirty-second choice of who we want to thank exemplifies all of the above. ❤️
Jake Gieschen is a man with a passion for giving back to this community.
For the past 10 years, Jake has served as a board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, dedicating his time and energy to help ensure that the youth in this community have a safe and supportive environment to learn, grow and just have fun. Led by R.J. Lindstrom, Jake and a very dedicated group of volunteers and BGC staff are heavily involved with an exciting and momentous Capital Campaign which is designated to raise funds to build the much needed Boys and Girls Club Teen Center right here in Sedalia MO. RJ, Jake, volunteers, BGC staff, and the VERY generous donors/community members know how important it is for our young people to have a safe and positive place to go where they are challenged to push themselves to new heights, and we are all super excited for this project! 😃
In addition to his work with the Boys and Girls Club, Jake is also doing big things as a board member for Smithton Youth Sports, the Smithton R-VI School District Board of Education, and Tiger Athletics United (Smithton's Athletic Booster Club). He takes great pride in being a part of these organizations, knowing that they play a vital role in shaping the future of the youth in this community.
In addition to his work with various organizations, Jake is also a youth coach for the local competitive soccer club, Revolution Futbol Club (RFC). It takes a village and RFC is an AWESOME soccer family where they all work together to push these young athletes to grow both on and off the field, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing kids improve as people, more so than players. ❤️
Outside of his community involvement, somehow, Jake actually finds time to go to work where he is a skilled craftsman who started his own business, Jake's Creative Woodworks, when he was just 21 years old, back in early 2003. He and his hard working crew build high end custom cabinetry for residences all over Missouri. Jake is very thankful for his employees and his customers which allowed him to turn a hobby into a career for many. His business continues to grow year after year!
Jake tries to set an example for his kids by giving back as much as he can, but in his spare time, he loves doing activities on the family farm with his 3 boys and going to their soccer games.
Jake's dedication to this community, his passion for helping others, and his commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people make him a truly exceptional community member. Smithton and Sedalia are lucky to have someone like Jake Gieschen working towards a brighter future for all! 🙌
