What a difference a few days and a little rain make. I fished this spot on Monday without a single bite but the water was low and fish were probably scattered. With the recent rains increasing the current flow, it put fish in more predictable places and easier to target. Jon Ouellette you should have hit this after work yesterday. Lol

I've been relegated to shore fishing for the immediate future, so a huge shout-out to my son Ed for driving up, loading the boat, launching it and then unloading everything when we got back. The morning started out pretty good with us both landing a few fish but just a couple good ones, then just when the sun started breaking through the clouds, I caught quite a nice fish for the pond we were at. We struggled to scratch out a handful more and ended the day with 14. Man, I really needed that after the last 10 days.

So, today was the last day of fishing for me for a while, I'm gonna be out of commission for a month. I was hoping to catch a big fish today and I fished three spots but it didn't happen. Started on a small pond and got a few small ones on the buzzbait. I switched to a nearby river but only caught several tiny Smallmounts, which I thought that was gonna be my picture for the day. I finally decided to go straight up froggin and filled the canoe with some small chunks. No big fish but turned out to be a numbers day. See you in a month.

Today I fished on one of the under-utilized rivers in RI. If you haven't fished the Blackstone, Pawtuxet or the Woonasquatucket you're missing out on a fun day of fishing. River fish tend to be more aggressive and less affected by weather changes. Unless of course you don't like 1-to-3-pound fish blasting your buzzbait.

Had a great few days of fishing recently. Caught a lot of fish but, was most excited about adding a new technique to my arsenal. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a shallow water, power fishing type of fisherman. This week I used a finesse bait to catch fish in 20 to 30 fow, which helped me turn average days into awesome days.
