I'm wondering if you fellow furniture painters have much luck selling furniture that you've put transfers on. In my area the plainer furniture sells better. It's disappointing because you can get so creative with those transfers!

Restyled this old thrice-painted dresser and nightstand set. It was pretty beat up, tons of brushstrokes, missing k**b on nightstand that someone had started stripping, and knots showing through on the dresser. Stripped, sanded and sanded and sanded! Then primed and painted blush pink and added floral transfers and added dark wax to the edges for dimension and aging. Has a feminine romantic look now. -

Made over this free roadside dresser. Solid pine with maple drawers. Painted in a very light soft warm gray, then added raised stencils, painted stencils and transfers to create this sweet dresser that could be a credenza adding a touch of whimsy to an entry or in a nursery. Of course had to remove 3 layers of bad paint jobs first!

Restyled this 1964 Fisher stereo cabinet into a great credenza. The stereo and speakers were goners so I removed all of that. My hubby Eric was kind enough to saw out the two panels that covered the speakers and install hinges so they are doors. He also added the bottom shelves to the two side cabinets. The top veneer was too badly damaged to save so I used paint and graining tools to create the blonde wood look from the time period. Added the mid-century modern handles and it’s got new life for another 25 years or so!

Found these cute vintage wall shelves for $1 each at an estate sale. Not high quality and scratched up and one latch broke so I took those doors off. Primed, painted, decoupaged with dinner napkins, top coated, painted the hardware and slightly distressed for a farmhouse finish. Sold instantly! Had people backed up to buy it….go figure.

Repaired, cleaned up and restyled this large Colonial highboy with a Pottery Barn / Restoration Hardware finish. Great quality dresser with cedar lined drawers. Was a heavy beast though and one time fell off the wheelies into my roller cart and dumped a pint of paint all over and totally bent the cart! The beast suffered no damage however 😁

Found this amazing 1920s art deco china cabinet at a garage sale. The bones were good but was weathered and had some veneer damage and a detached handle. Sanded to bare wood, made repairs, restrained the beautiful parts and painted what was not good enough for stain. Added the palm leaf stencil in gold to the hutch back and painted all the hardware and hinges gold to give it the ‘20s glam! Sold the day after I listed it 😁. -

Found this free roadside dresser and stripped the awful paint job (3 layers-green,white,blue). I painted it white and added the hot air balloon decoupage to the front and stenciled hot air balloons on each side. Will be so cute and inspire imagination in some child’s bedroom.

Bought this 90s bed frame for our main bedroom. Of course I did a little repair, cleaned, scuff sanded, added the finials and the appliqués on the center panels. Then primed, blended two colors for an aged look that fit great with the stenciled wall and lends itself to the cottage look I’m going for. Light, soft and serene 🙂 -

Repainted this little accent cabinet to look very old world with a light crackle finish and floral and script embellishments. Added sparse bronze gilding wax to the top and bottom trim to look like it had been worn off over the years. Cute cabinet for a foyer or hall or dining room.

Did a soft navy finish on this little drawer chest. I think it looks Swedish with the beautiful white, blue and gold k**bs that were original. I painted soft highlights on the curved areas on both sides, as well as highlights around the k**bs with a paler shade of blue to give it some dimension, an interest. Someone had spray painted the chest at some point and got a lot of overspray on the drawers so I painted them inside and out. Would be a great piece in a foyer for glasses, keys, bills, chargers, etc.
