I'm falling for you!
Attention home composters, grab leaf litter while you can! Dead leaves are a free source of carbon, and carbon is essential to every compost pile! We recommend raking leaves into trash cans or trash bags for year-round use. Furthermore, crumble dried leaves before adding them to your compost pile so that they don't build up and prevent oxygen from freely moving throughout the pile.
Attention fall clean-up enthusiasts, leaf and yard waste is banned from the trash. Fortunately, we accept leaf and yard waste at the District Transfer Station! This includes leaves, grass clippings, pine needles, garden waste, small amounts of sod, and twigs the diameter of a pencil and smaller. Larger twigs and branches can be placed in our Natural Wood Pile. Review our reasonable drop-off rates by following the links below:
