Our team recently stepped away from our desks to celebrate this beautiful summer together at Starr Farm Beach in Burlington, Vermont! We spent the day enjoying beautiful lakeside views, games, and delicious pizza and ice cream from Tim's other local spots, Pizza 44 and The Scoop, with a boat ride to cap off the afternoon. 🍕🍦🚤

Danny's chocolate lab spent so much time swimming in the lake, a few of us thought we caught a rare sighting of Champ! 😉

This 2020 project for Schluter Systems’ CEO private office and conference area is proof of that philosophy. When we design corporate spaces, we aren’t just looking at what’s trending today. We focus on long-duration aesthetics and structural longevity. Our goal is to specify commercial environments that remain pristine, functional, and modern long after a design trend lifecycle would have expired.

Why this layout stood the test of time:

🔸Intentional Specification: We anchored the executive office and boardroom in premium solutions primarily from Teknion—like the fully loaded Sabrina task chair and adaptive Just Us seating—built specifically for high-performance durability.'

🔸Timeless Aesthetic Over Temporary Trends: By balancing classic architectural lines with high-end contract materials, the space remains effortlessly modern.

🔸Future-Proof Functionality: Height-adjustable tables in both the office and the boardroom ensures the ergonomics adapt to changing work styles, while custom cabinetry cleanly conceals high-utility features like a fully vented, integrated refreshment fridge.

Textile Manufacturer Spotlight: Maharam

At Exterus, we often turn to Maharam to bring world-class textiles to our commercial interior projects.

Founded in 1902, Maharam evolved from a theatrical textile resource to a pioneer of performance-driven contract textiles in the 1960s. Maharam faithfully reissues archival works by design icons (Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, Anni Albers), collaborates with contemporary visionaries like Paul Smith, and several textiles have earned themselves a permanent home in collections at MoMA, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Stedelijk Museum.
