Yes, this post has taken a few years to post 🤣 .
It was an honor to be deeply involved in this project. ( there's another post to come involving the apartments) . These 3 rooms ( conference room, break room, and office) were my layout and design...other than color, most of yall know I'm not a color man 😉. I was so impressed with the owners vision for this downtown icon . Such an incredible blend of the old with the new . Everywhere you look on this property, there's something cool looking back at you .

This next job illustrates why the right cabinet shop and kitchen designer can mean everything.
You would be amazed at how many new homes that May Flower is hired to fix the kitchens in.
The kitchen is often referred to as the "heart of the home". As my reputation grew as not only a craftsman but an artist, I found myself "saving" these type sof homes more and more often.
Pulling up to these homes after all these years I'm still amazed at how beautiful they are yet harbor a sad little secret inside. I walk inside and notice the well thought out floor plan and ceiling features with beautiful moldings . Then........ I walk into the kitchen🤦‍♂️ .
Sadly, many in the business just don't understand the importance of form, function, and color. These elements will make or break a home .
I wasn't completely sure about the homeowners idea of so many colors and different woods all together. After playing with it in my head for a few days, it fell into place .
As you can tell with the couple of side by side , before and after pictures, this was a radical transformation of the entire house . I say that because the kitchen will deeply affect "feel" of the entire home not just the room its in . This home had a sad, washed out almost gloomy feeling . Now, it's bright, cheery and alive .... or at least the homeowners and I sure think so.

This little project was a very different twist of covering up a load support post . It's located in such a way that the chair and couch meet up with it perfectly to turn it into an end table with its own power outlet .
The way its built and finished, you can't find any seams .... it's as if it was built and finished in place .
I love my "out of the box" clients that allow ( or even push ) me to think outside the box for alluring, functional solutions to aesthetically challenged structural problems .

Another one of our custom MayFlower finishes. No, it's not a stain, otherwise, it wouldn't be near as "rich" with the "depth" and soft beauty. Although I've had numerous contractors, painters, and designers ask me to share WHAT this is ,I've only taught one other cabinet shop the trick to creating this finish. Pictures completely fail to fully reveal what all it holds and projects.
Now, consider this : this renovation is on a rental house. Multiple landlords have discovered 2 secrets... #1 provide a higher end home, you can attract a higher end client willing to give a higher end lease...this client will take much better care of the property owners investment and be a lot easier to obtain the monthly reimbursement from.
The #2 secret is what many don't realize, custom cabinets are not nearly as expensive as one would expect. Many times our prices are in line with (or even cheaper than) the factory box cabinets. Plus, you support a local small business.
So yeah, along with our incredibly high end designs and quality for any size custom homes, we design and build numerous rentals and "flip" houses.

Quick little post of a quick little job for a good neighbor. It's amazing the difference a little bit of custom cabinets can make in s persons everyday life. This is coming in off of the garage. Which picture would you choose to wish you well on your way to work and to welcome you home after a long day 🤔?
Everything in the before picture fits in the after picture PLUS broom , dustpan and so on .

As many of you know, we've spent hours in the spraybooth creating our own lines of custom faux finishes.
We created this one a few years back and it's still a show stopper.
The client originally walked into my shop with a different plan for her cabinetry until she saw this finish on the cabinets we were currently building. She threw away her sample and took this one home instead .
So many interesting features in this job , other than just the finish that sets us apart, but I'll let you find them for yourself 😁.

This early 1900s farm house is currently owned by a local business man with a large family. This is the "canning" kitchen/laundry room (not the main kitchen) and back entry mud room .
You can see from the "before" pictures, this project had a lot to overcome.
The panel box was moved and the water heater was exchanged for an "on demand " unit. This allowed us to "clean up" the space and take advantage of the space for much needed storage.
The open shelves on either side of the stove were requested by the client for cooling her pies .
Pretty next level for an old mudroom and second kitchen for canning. 😁
I almost forgot to mention the easy access gun rack to combat the ground hogs out the back door ... did I mention it's a farm house ?🤣

I know it's been awhile since I've been on here to share . I've been busy to say the least . I'm gonna do my best to get some pictures on here soon .
I figured I would start slow with a small project we did for a good neighbor a few years ago .
This is the before and after of their entry from the garage into the house .... no real usable storage and no where for brooms n such to go.
Now, the same space provides several times over the storage space as before AND the brooms and mop are tucked away ...handy, yet out of sight ... what do you think , an improvement on style and function, or did we waste our time? 🤔😆

I wanted to share a small remodel we were recently a part of .
The clients are a young couple that purchased this vintage farmhouse along with the surrounding acreage.
It was acquired far enough in advance so a full remodel could be completed before their wedding date . They both still live at home with their parents and will not move into the house until after they are married.
I know I typically go on about the cabinetry or the house but not with this job. It was the clients old school values that were so impressive that I was compelled to share. It's as if they were of the time the house was originally built so long ago and that this nation so dearly misses .
Hope you enjoy and pause to consider the message of our actions as they speak without our even knowing .
