Now that the plague has reduced by a little, people braving the world again tend to want to go to events. That being said we’d like to share one of our annual events we are hosting through the Realm of Chivalry.

Winter’s Night. This event will be hosted at Dryer Hall, in Tacoma on the 19th of November, 2022.

There will only be 120 tickets, and it is a pre-reg only event, no tickets at the door.

Vaccines are required.

Traditionally Winter’s Night is a Northern Germanic / Nordic celebration that calls the end of the harvest and is the herald of a shift in the focus of the community from warmer / outdoor activities to colder / indoor activities as the duration of the days shortens.

The event will include a pot luck style feast, and will coincide with a cooking competition between dishes traditional for your own persona.

The Winter’s Night feast itself was focused on veneration and respect for the dead. A celebration of kinship with both the living and our ancestors. Starting this night, the great division between the worlds was believed to be thinned, which allowed chaotic forces to grow stronger and influence our world more readily in the colder months

Traditional viking games and martial events to be announced. Workshops of traditional skills including embroidery and wire weaving. There will also be a boffer weapon/shield making workshop, designed for both kids and adults.

Hey all

We just finished our annual Althing this year and there will be a photo-dump incoming in a bit. I would like to take some time to say thank you to all who showed up and we hope to see you guys again in the future.

We will be attempting to use this public page a bit more. Our hope is to provide actual updates on the events we are going to, using this as a medium for crafting tutorials and other videos, and just in general have a good space for us to ease our way back into event-like stuff now that we have that opportunity.

If you have any questions or concerns about the above then feel free to message Dickbeard.

Enjoy and hope to see you at the next event.

Plans have been super tentative, and going back and forth due to the plague that ravishes our land, but rest assured we will be having a Zoom hangout going tomorrow for "Winter's Night". Will start up at least by 5, maybe sooner, and will run until we get bored enough to push the off button.. which means I might still be streaming into Sunday afternoon, lol.

We still plan to have drunk'n Lefsa making, runes galore, once Lulu comes out we'll likely get some remote twisty stick going, might even do a couple of streamed pillow fighting matches once we start to lose our coordination, and other various shenanigans Longboat style.

Want to remind everyone we are hosting Winternights this weekend in Tacoma. An all ages, full immersion event being co-hosted by the Barony of Welkin, under the The Realm of Chivalry Group banner.

Come down and spend some time drinking with Dickbeard, reading runes with Rowyn, let us watch your contort you body with our twisty stick or do all three. Bring your kids for classes on making boffer weapons and shields, or learn how to make a pouch, or card weave.

Come participate in our baldric competition, heraldry contest, Viking pillow fighting, or test your strength at hammerschalgen.

Come visit the Hitayksah Village, who will be demonstrating scrimshaw and likely other 'olden time' skills.

Plus, don't forget there is a pot luck dinner being hosted at the event, along with an associated thematic cooking competition. Details on the event page.

But most importantly, come hang out with the Longboat, and all the rabble we attract, sure to be a grand time.

Winternights

We are co-hosting an all ages event within the Realm of Chivalry coming up next month, centered around a traditional Viking holiday, Winternights. I encourage you all to come venerate the Gods, and celebrate with us in hopes of a gentle winter.

There will be numerous classes / demonstrations being hosted by various members of the Realm. Come learn about Heraldry, Runes, Scrimshaw, Card Weaving, Pouch Making and more.

A bardic competition will be hosted by our newly crowned King Ulf, bring your best short skit, song, poem, ballad , etc and aim to impress his majesty! I hear there will be bonus points for appropriately themed entries.

Bring the kids down and help them build boffer weapons and shields for them to play with.

Come down and play some Viking war training games. Test your strength with Hammerschalgen (Hammer game!), your combat awareness and dexterity in Jomswikinger (Viking pillow fighting), or test your um... flexibility... in Twisty Stick, plus more participation willing.

There will be a pot luck for dinner, including a Viking themed cooking competition! Check out the event page for more details. Bring your feast gear!

Pre-reg is open now, $10 for adults, $5 for those under 18, and free for those under 13.

Home from Tortuga, trailers unloaded, canvases and walls being washed and repacked. But alas, there is no rest for the wicked or for Vikings.

As we bring the main Pirate Event season to a close, we ramp up for our own Althing event next year. As such event information and invites will be going out in the coming days and weeks, and if you would like one, now is a good time to reach out to our crew to make sure you secure one of the limited invites for our event. Especially if you asked us while we were drinking, lol!

I want to take this opportunity to touch on something real quick; drug use. What people want to do to their own bodies and in their own homes, is frankly, none of my business. But this event, is an invitation from us, into one of our "homes" and I take every single one of those invitations very seriously.

Ma*****na is legal in Washington State, and its use will be allowed at our event. As such, I feel it is important to remind would-be attendees that we have crew and friends who are allergic to pot smoke who will be attending our event. What this means for you is that we will have a designated area for its use. Use of smoke-able pot outside this area will not be tolerated. Use of edible treats and similar methods of delivery are not restricted as such.

While it is likely that other substances will be added to those lists of things decriminalized or even legalized in the coming months and years, we have and will likely always have a 'no white powders' type rule at our camps and events. Hard drugs are not welcome at our events. Selling any drug is not welcome at our events.

And finally, so help you Odin, if you dose another of our guests without explicit consent and knowledge.
