Remember the console table we posted recently, with brown wood base (top photo)? Well, our final decision was to ebonize the base to deep black. We think it adds dramatic elegance and enhances the “floating” effect of the live-edge top. Which do you prefer? We’re curious to know!

Really enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends at our Artisan Popup at Second Use Building Materials. We never get tired of talking about the creative possibilities of wood, and people who come to Second Use are already thinking out of the box! Reuse, salvage, recycle, upcycle—it’s all a great adventure, and even better when shared with a community. Our coffee tables and tablescapes will be available for sale at Second Use through March 8. Look through all the pics to see great finds in the rest of the store. Were else would you find a glass-bottle chandelier, 100% recycled paint, and a vintage Singer sewing machine in perfect working order?

Out of the workshop and into the sunset yesterday, just in time to catch the last gleam of sunset—and some great improvisations for sleds. Overheard, as someone started downhill: “Try to avoid the green spots!” Yes, it’s winter in Seattle. :)
