Sowell’s would like to invite you to come by our store on FRI April 25,10-5 or SAT April 26, 10-3!!! After 80 years in business Sowell’s will be closing the business on this Saturday. We hope you will come by for a cookie, for a walk through and/or to share a memory!!!
A little background: John Sowell opened “Sowell’s Home Supply” in April of 1945. After the war, John’s brother-in-law Cecil Childers, returned home from his Navy duty to White County and then began working with John at Sowell’s.
Betty started working in her early teens. When Betty married and moved away, Nancy was now 12 so she started working by answering the phone and dusting the furniture!!! We learned the Furniture business from the best, our Dad and our Uncle Cecil.
When it was Betty & Nancy’s turns to really be in charge they were ready because they knew “how to take care of business” because they learned from “the best”, our Dad and Uncle Cecil”!!!
