I've been surprised by how well Black Locust has carved and finished. It's an absolutely gorgeous finish for a wood that is mostly used for fence posts.

We finished and mounted these carved wooden signs for a friend's property and I am so proud of how they turned out! We hope they will last for decades to come!

I used Black Locust for all the signs on this property, which should last for 40+ years without any issue.

Both the design and carving was done in-house and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

Busy in the Scaly Mountain shop this week with outdoor signs for a friend's Airbnb!

I'm using Black Locust on this project so that he can leave it in the elements without worrying.

Black Locust may be my new favorite wood to carve and finish - it looks gorgeous with a simple stain. It is extremely hard, but even so it carves beautifully.

Hello neighbors, I've been busy in my Scaly Mtn. shop carving out these topo maps! I'm proud of how they came out.

I wanted to create something unique for your coffee table – a mix of art and function. You can actually feel the elevation changes around your mountain home.

Originally this wood was a tree in a neighbor's yard in Highlands! I milled it up, kiln-dried it and turned it into the carving pictured.

Each carving is customized to match your home's coordinates and elevation. Take a look at this one with Bearpen Mtn. right in the middle.

The elevation can be customized to show your home's elevation, or the highest point on the map. You can also customize the text to whatever you like as long as it's not too long.
