✨ From Cramped to Custom: A Waunakee Kitchen Transformation!

When it comes to a luxury kitchen remodel, maximizing both beauty and functionality is everything. For this incredible local project, our clients were struggling with a dated, two-tier island that chopped up their workspace and left them short on storage.

We completely reimagined the layout to create the ultimate chef’s kitchen! By taking the new custom cabinets all the way to the ceiling and replacing the old island with a massive, single-level functional island, we drastically expanded their usable workspace. We also designed a custom hutch to cleverly tuck away the microwave and small appliances, keeping the countertops completely clear.

The star of the show? The gorgeous custom cabinetry, handcrafted right here in our Sauk City shop by Pat. We used Quartersawn White Oak in a natural finish with timeless inset Shaker doors to bring warmth, texture, and unmatched durability to the space.

✨ FLASHBACK to 1987! ✨

It all started with two men, one building, and a whole lot of craft. 🪵🛠️

Forty years ago, Carl Mundth and Wally Luepke independently had the same big idea. They inquired about a recently vacant building at 312 South Park Street in Reedsburg, learned about each other's interests, and realized they were stronger together than they ever were apart. On January 1, 1987, Classic Cabinetry was born.

From day one, the mission was clear: to create high-quality, custom cabinets that outshine pre-manufactured products. Looking through this old article, we’re reminded of those early days of hand-building dream kitchens, beautiful grandfather clocks, and oak dining room tables.

As we celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we want to thank the communities that have made this journey possible. From our original home in Reedsburg to Baraboo, Wisconsin Dells, Sauk City, and the Greater Madison area, thank you for trusting us to bring craft and quality into your homes.

🌲 CABINETRY EVOLUTION: The Log Lake House Edition 🌲

There is something incredibly special about a home that grows with you. We are currently back on-site at a stunning log lake house we first touched nearly 20 years ago! 🏡✨

When it came time for a total kitchen remodel, our clients (and our design team!) knew one thing for certain: we had to save the iconic stone peninsula from our original 20-year-old installation.

The Plan: Instead of a total "demo," we took a creative approach to blend the old with the new. We’ve replaced the surrounding cabinets but kept two units attached to that beautiful stone wall.

To give them a bold, modern life, we:

✅ Removed the original face frames

✅ Refinished them in Sherwin-Williams Luxurious Red 🎨

✅ Reinstalled them with brand-new fronts

✅ Added custom interior drawers and rollout trays for modern functionality.

The result will be a perfect mix of rustic history and high-end custom cabinetry. Stay tuned for the final reveal of this dream kitchen transformation!
