Meet "Veronika", named after the sweet Russian lady who helped me move this VERY HEAVY, solid, mid century stunner across her huge yard to my car.
My mantra is "Just say no to MDF".
Veronika is probably 60 years old and has many decades left.

You won't believe how this bench started 🙈

Someone had put LAMINATE FLOOR TILES over th beautiful birch. I saw it on FB marketplace and knew it had good bones though so I stripped the gluey mess and hand-painted a bold design.

This bench has been more complicated than anticipated 😵‍💫. I stupidly didn't realize how much the oil-based stain would be bleed through so the tape was pointless. But I fixed it with some black paint

I found this pine dresser for FREE on the side of the road and I'll confess I did some shady maneuvers to sn**ch it 😬. Let's say a man in a truck is probably still looking for me.

I thought it looked like a "kids dresser" so I laboriously stripped it, whitewashed it then added tab handles.

Oh my I cannot believe the atrocities done to this gorgeous mid-century hardwood bench I just picked up. Yes, that is LAMINATE FLOORING TILES adhered to the top 🙈 which naturally destroyed the finish.
Don't worry, I have great plans for her! Look at those lines!

She was in bad shape when I got her with split wood and nicks, and the water stain was the death of me so I had to distress the top. Maple, from the 1960s. Turned out wonderfully and sold in two days
