Interesting statistics 😢
Here at the FBA we believe that data can help drive accountability.
Between January 1, 2026, and May 21, 2026, the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles dashboard recorded 3,277 bicycle crashes across the state.
These numbers represent a profound human toll: 3,152 people on bicycles sustained injuries, and 55 people on bicycles were killed.
Crashes are preventable. We refuse to accept these tragedies as a foregone conclusion.
The Florida Bicycle Association champions safer, low-stress, and accessible bicycling across Florida by shaping policy, improving infrastructure, and influencing behavior through advocacy, education, and strategic partnerships.
We need systemic, coordinated change to move toward zero fatalities. Policy must prioritize safety, infrastructure must protect people, and education must change behavior.
