C4 Corvette Interior Overhaul!

It isn’t everyday, that you get to see two different generations of corvette’s being worked on simultaniously.

As some of you may know, we’ve been hard at work restoring
this ‘86 C4 Corvette! The interior refresh has been
a labor-intensive process, but one thing is for sure—we do it right.

We’ve replaced almost everything, per customer
request and due to the original components aging out. Here’s what we’ve tackled
so far:

✨ New Parts Installed:
✅ Driver & Passenger Door Panels

✅ “Non-Oversized” Weatherstripping

✅ Center Console Shifter Lid

✅ Side Plastics & Good-Condition Used Base

✅ Dash Assembly Frame

✅ Dash Pad & Gauge Cluster
Trim

✅ A-Pillars & Sun Visors

🛠️ OEM Used Parts
from Trusted Sellers:

🔹 Mirror Switch & Mirror Selector Switch

🔹 Dash Breadbox

🔹 LH B-Pillar Trim

🔹 Center Console Base

🔹 Parking Brake Handle & Trim Cover

We hit a few hiccups with transport and labeling, but
everything arrived in solid shape! Right now, we’re waiting on the Blend
Door Actuator Mounting Bracket—once that’s in, we can finish the door
panels and move on to reassembling the interior.

✅ Custom Seats are in and ready! Just
waiting on the center console and carpet to go in. The center
console must wait until the dash is fully completed, so patience
and proper knowledge are key in getting everything done the
right way.

From adjusting the windows to ensuring every
component fits better than before, this restoration isn’t just about meeting
expectations—we exceed them. Stay tuned for the next phase!

This Beechcraft Bonanza is getting closer to completion!

You may recall our last update going over the seats we designed for the plane; well this update is going to show off the panels we made to match the interior!

Since new upgraded components had been installed we had to strip the panels and take them back to the plane to check fitment and make any needed adjustments.

After making sure each panel was correct we began the process of sewing the new skins for each piece. We created a diamond stitch section above the newly wrapped armrests to match the seat insert design. Maintaining the visual flow in the plane was incredibly important to us so we took extra time when joining the synthetic leather to the carpeted sections.

While these panels may look clean and straightforward, it’s easy to underestimate the amount of work need to achieve the final product.

Once the Bonanza has had the interior paint touched up, we will be getting these beautiful panels installed and sharing them in another update!

Happy New Year Everyone!

This little number came in early December to get a complete interior, and we’ve
been plugging away ever since. Most of our focus has been on finding all the necessary
parts that we would need to revamp this interior. Since this lovely C4
is a 1986, most of the interior components from tip to tail have suffered a
little from the touch of time, to say the least.

Thankfully we’ve been able to find
almost everything we need from one place or another, shoutout to the classic
car community and aftermarket options!

Besides replacing most of all trim components, all door components & switches, dash frame & wire harness repairs down to all trim hardware will have either
been repaired or replaced. From the basics like carpet and batting along with replacing
seat foam and covers, this is what we do and do well. Keep an eye out for more
update posts as we continue making progress with this project!

We made a post last month talking about this Bonanza J-35 that we have been tackling the interior on and now we’ve got some progress to show off! You may recognize this plane as we previously completed the headliner panels, sun visors and acoustic sound deadning later last year. Now, we’re taking it even further with a full interior upgrade, with this update focusing on the custom seating assemblies. You may recall from the last post that our customer wanted vintage with a modern twist. We belive this was a good compromise.
From replaced safety belts with updated certified restraint webbing in a dark grey, the tweed stitched with diamonds, to the beautifily matched synthetic leather, these seat assemblies were designed to elevate both comfort and aesthetics. Every detail was designed with precision and care to enhance the customers flying experience while honoring the legacy of this long-performing aircraft.

Some of you may remember us doing some work on this Bonanza some months back for the headliner and air plenum.

Well she’s back again and this time we’re finishing up the rest of the interior! The seats, panels, and carpet will all be getting reupholstered for a nostalgic look with a modern twist. Just like the mats in your car, sometimes the mats in a plane need replacing!

This KingAir 350i sees a decent amount of foot traffic and was in need of a more durable and easy to clean solution for carpet runners and mats.

Since a high-wear, durable material was needed for this interior we chose a woven vinyl product that is incredibly robust but also boasts antimicrobial protection against bacteria, mold, and mildew. This protection is built in to the yarns at the polymer level, meaning you’re protected continuously for the lifetime of the product!

This starlink internet kit was a unique experience for our shop.

Due to the cost of every piece involved and how tight the tolerances are for the entire assembly, we took as much care as possible to plan out the entire process before starting anything.

We had to tape over the entire panel that everything was being mounted to so we could protect the wood veneer while precisise holes were drilled through one side and the aluminum core paneling using steady hands, specialized bits along with a lot of patience.

One of the reasons we were chosen to do this job was that no one wanted the responsibility. Not many are willing to risk screwing up a $15,000 divider panel

After the holes were prepped, special threaded inserts supplied from the Starlink kit was put in place using a specific Hysol epoxy to create secure mounting points for the hardware.

The whole assembly took us a few days to complete from starting to drill the holes to screwing in each of the components.

After we confirmed that everything would fit up correctly, the completed panel was brought to the plane and fitted up before the wiring was completed.

With over $100k of stuff altogether, would you be comfortable transporting it in the bed of your truck?

Take a look at these components from a Starlink system we recently assembled and installed for a King Air 350 jet!

These pieces are super expensive and have strict tolerances for its assembly. Every bit of care was taken to make sure everything was safe and protected from possible damage during the process of assembly.

With that being said, there was still a cluster at the other end. We’ll have another post next week going over that experience.

How much do you guys think all these parts are worth?

Those who have been following us know we’ve been working on a plane for a few months now. Recently on that Twin Commander we were working on the carpet for the cockpit and cabin areas.

Now as much as we would have loved to be able to just cut and install the carpet, we had to make sure all the edges were secured for stability and longevity.

That brings us to this NC Carpet Binding machine! While it’s definitely possible to stitch binding using a standard machine, the size and shape of our carpets really pushed us to invest in a purpose-made machine.

After getting used to the learning curve and lots of practice, we’ve been able to complete two sets of carpeting in about half the time using this carpet binding machine.

A shop is only as good as its tools and this machine will help push us forward in the aviation sector even more!
