Meet Leslie Mitchell, Interior Designer at our Sandpoint location.

Leslie started her career at Royal Upholstery right out of college, then went to the Brass Oak furniture store. She stayed home briefly until her kids were a little older, and then went to work for the Norwalk Furniture Gallery for many years as an accessory purchaser. She expanded her knowledge and skills further by advancing to a sales rep position for Idaho and Washington. Today, Leslie is one of our tenured designers having worked with us for over 9 years! She and her husband finished building their dream home in Priest River where they enjoy relaxing evenings among the rustic North Idaho setting.

Leslie can help with everything from furniture and decor selection to room planning! Drop by our Sandpoint location to meet her and get great ideas for your home!

Our story began in October 1945.

Arch and Helen Hanley opened a radio repair shop in Spokane, WA called ACME Radio & Repair. Over the years it grew to include electronics of all kinds, including TVs, stereos, and even appliances. Arch's son, Jim, continued to grow the family business as ACME TV became a household name in the Spokane area.

In the early 2000s, they introduced a few recliners and chairs. With the help of Jim's daughter, Heather, the two of them started to pivot away from the highly competitive electronics market and into furniture and home decor. The company name was soon changed to The Tin Roof and the selection grew to fill the entire store.

About 2 years ago, we saw that many of our customers were coming from North Idaho so the idea of a Sandpoint location was born. As an extension of our main showroom in Spokane, we offer the same great selection and service in a boutique setting.

What's scarier than ghouls and goblins at your door? Finding a chocolate stain on your new sofa.

Sure, furniture comes with manufacturer warranties, but what typically happens to furniture is not covered by the manufacturer. Incidents like "little Bobby drew on the chair with a sharpie" or "Sally let her popsicle melt on the seat." This is why we offer our Protection Plan.

Our Protection Plan covers the repair or replacement of your furniture investment. If the techs can't repair it, they replace the damaged part. If the damaged part can't be replaced, then they replace the whole piece. If, for example, the damaged piece is part of a set, such as dining chairs, they replace the whole set of chairs.

THE BEST PART: If you don't use your Protection Plan within 5 years, you will receive an in-store credit here at The Tin Roof equal to 100% of the purchase price of the Protection Plan. In other words, you won't lose it if you don't use it.
