Here is a great link to uninstalling Malware on Windows. I had "Conduit" through installing some utilities from a non-direct source (lesson learned!) and these two softwares were very effective!

As a web-based software developer, a rule of thumb I live by is: "a mistake a user makes without being corrected is the developer's mistake" - this ownership of keeping data clean makes for a product that customers use and LIKE!

TIP FOR EVERYONE: when you are entering your email on a forum or a website, write it out "longhand" so that computers on the Internet specifically designed to "harvest" emails don't get yours and start sending you junk emails
