*...full remodel of a bungalow . From tear out to finished product I do it all! This project included custom folding doors, drywall, paint, white lacquer/glass uppers, bamboo plywood lowers, compressed cardboard island counter top with live edge waterfall by , white granite countertops, slate floor tiles. And that was just the kitchen! 🇸🇪💪🏻🔨😬

*...finally got the new electrical all set up in the new shop out here in Knoxville, Tennessee! All my tools are now in place and been cutting into wood ALL week. Making a gorgeous 6 person dining table out of cherry and birch. What can I do for you? 🎄 Christmas is right around the corner so...remember fine crafting takes time.

The move continues---
Here's the scoop Friends:

Well Facebook Friends and Family today is the much anticipated unveiling of the next chapter in the life of Gustaf Anders Rooth and our quest to become the best at what we do - Design and Build.

Effective immediately, the Gustaf Rooth Design Studio is relocating to our very own 4 acre ranch that we have aptly named Sten Gard Ranch to include the rocky nature of our land. Artists always create better on a mountain top, right? Well that is exactly where we have landed, just a few short (30) miles East of Downtown San Diego overlooking the massive Muth Valley, now renamed Trevi Hills.

The move is by no means a downsize, we look at it as a pivotal shift as we refocus on what are special talents are: Designing and Building High Quality Furniture from wine and bourbon barrels and also from just about any raw material we can come up with that fits the purpose. We are also focusing on refining our iQ Barrel Smoker. We can accommodate a big crowd under the stars on the ranch!! Keep an eye out for upcoming events that include food and wine.

Did I say Wine? Our new location is just about 200 yards from the Trevi Hills Winery and the word around the valley is we may end up having something special to do with the grand opening a bit later this year. We can promise one thing - you will see grape vines in the Sten Gard Ranch Vineyard and our inaugural production probably in 2020.

It will take us a few weeks to get back up to speed, but don't let that hold you back - new orders are always welcome!

Don't worry about the distance as Gustaf will be splitting his time between Sten Gard Ranch, Fiance Daphne's home near USD and an occasional excursion to LA's art district where a small studio has recently opened to showcase both of their works. We are happy to come to you to provide a consult and quote at your convenience.

*...Dear Family, Friends, Collectors and Art lovers-
2016 comes now to a close. What a crazy year it's been!

With that said:

After 17 years of owning & operating a fine Art Studio/Gallery here in San Diego, I have decided to permanently close the Planet Rooth Design Haus. After hundreds of artisan shows, countless events, hundreds of collectors and thousands of visitors; added to the monumental memories, the time has come to walk away. It's not an easy decision yet one has to weigh the costs and sacrifices we artists make to do what we do. I will continue to create fine furnishing/art and more importantly, strive to become the great painter I've always dreamed of! So many of you have given me the strength to carry on, year after year, in a city that proves over and over- its just a hard sale. So be it. I wouldn't trade any of my experiences till now for anything in the world. To have arrived the young, clueless (green) artist from Sweden to founding Ray at Night to my dream studio/gallery on Bankers Hill and penetrating the LA art scene with all I have; all while blossoming to an (almost) mid centurion. I can honestly say I have never given up and I will continue to live my dream.
The future is now wide open. Come Feb 1, 2017 the door will close on this epic chapter of my life. I, along with my newly engaged and beloved Daphne Hill will continue our path. More to follow. For now though, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You for all your support and if you are still reading here then you already know my mantra-
