The first thing you need to understand about wicker furniture is: don't buy it. HDPE seems to be the trend for outdoor wicker. The idea that recycled material can be melted down and repurposed for your furniture is great on paper. Several times a week we have inquiries from customers needing it repaired. The basic answer is, the furniture is not repairable. Some wicker can be rewoven if you have an accident that punctures or tears a corner. Once it ages and starts breaking down, it is difficult to fix. Once it starts deteriorating, where do you begin? First you need replacement wicker pieces. If you're extremely lucky, you will have success in being able to purchase it by the foot. You will end up redoing the process that created the furniture to begin with, using new pieces of plastic. Why not just replace it, if it requires the same effort and material? Replacement is likely to be cost-effective and easier. Better yet, replace old wicker furniture with long-lasting metal frame furniture that has easily repairable fabric seating.

Outdoor kitchens are a thing of the past. It is a nice idea. However, if you are not already eating outside, the chances of you eating outside when you have the kitchen are not very high. Of course, if you have a big budget, go for it. Know that It is a commitment. Outdoor kitchen areas need regular cleaning, maintenance and repair of the grout and tile, stucco and paint. In our experience with customers, kitchens get neglected. Outdoor kitchens became popular in the 90's to early 2000's. Most outdoor seating was for eating. Around 2003, the outdoor living room came around, boosting the experience and image of an outdoor space. The downside is, spaces are being filled up with oversized "living room furniture". The current trend for the patio is more multi-use. The desire to have comfortable seating and room to enjoy other activities on the patio besides the lounge living room experience. Maybe opt for a loveseat and small bistro set. Consider a foldable table you bring out for guests. The rest of the time, chairs are spaced around the patio with a small end table between two chairs.

Why do we focus on powder coating vs. repainting? Powder coating comes out very smooth and even. There are no brushstrokes from paint brushes, no drips or runs. When too much paint is applied, there are countless droplets visible when it dries. Rather than applying a liquid and keeping it protected from smudges and damage while it dries, we apply lasting solid color directly.
