Our recent clients purchased a massive 3,608 sqft custom home in their dream neighborhood. Their first order of business, completely renovate it from top to bottom!

Though Bird House can only take credit for full interior paint (cabinetry included), we are honored and grateful to have been apart of such a massive and beautiful transformation.

Our client called Bird House, conflicted. The question, to list or renovate?

They've owned their nest since 2011 but were entertaining the thought of purchasing a new one. However, as Bird House had just recently renovated their friend's nest, they decided to give us a call to see what renovation options were available.

Jenna worked closely with the clients to come up with the following renovation plan:

✅️Repaint all first floor baseboards, walls, ceilings, doors and door casings.
✅️Install and paint new feature wall at Living Room.
✅️Redesign existing builder grade island by adding decorative millwork throughout.
✅️Paint all kitchen cabinetry and add new hardware throughout.
✅️Remove existing builder grade backsplash and install new.
✅️Remove existing builder grade sink and faucet and install new.

After careful consideration, these clients decided to stay in their current nest! In just 12 short days we took this amazing family from Builder grade to Bird House grade! 🐦🏠🔥

We truly can't thank our clients enough for entrusting Bird House with their nest. Cheers, to all the amazing new memories their family will make in their beautifully renovated spaces.

Can a renovation be bold, beautiful and dramatic without tearing everything down to the studs and costing a fortune? At Bird House, the answer is YES.

Our clients turned to us because they wanted to beautify their exterior spaces without doing a full renovation. Jenna listened to the client's needs and came up with the following solutions:

✅️ Primary Home: Rather than paint the entire home, paint only the front and rear doors, window trim, facia boards, soffit and gutters in a bold and contrasting yet complementing color to that of the existing color on the home's body.

✅️ Exterior Bathroom and Shed: Since both are seperate, freestanding structures, be bold in color selections ensuring to choose a pallet that not only compliments the primary home but also the client's massive, outdoor entertaining space.

✅️ Outdoor Patio Ceiling: Add additional 1x2s to center of each rectangular section to create additional definition and design and paint the entire space throughout in the same accent color as the primary home.

The end result, bold and beautiful without a lengthy or outrageously priced renovation. Once again, Builder grade to Bird House grade! 🐦🏠

One's woman's junk is another woman's treasure.

In the midst of our client projects and our day-to-day grind with the kiddos, Jenna managed to squeeze in a personal project.

Our baby bird has been asking for a mini makeover of her room now that she's a little older. She found an inspiration pic online for a media console/dresser that she absolutely loved. Unfortunately for her, that piece was almost $2000. Yeah sorry, my love.

However, Momma Bird found a piece here locally in San Antonio that had similar bones that was being sold for $50. With some elbow grease, TLC and some dang fine craftsmanship, Jenna managed to take Emma's inspiration pic and bring it to life at a fraction of the cost.

Ladies, strong work!

Taking our signature phrase, Builder grade vs. Bird House grade to a whole new level! Thank you to our client, John for entrusting us with his nest. It was our absolute pleasure. Had a few bumps along the way (a story for another day) but we made it to the finish line and the end result is absolutely stunning. Folks, this transformation is living proof that you don't have to wait to build the custom home of your dreams to have the Bird House space of your dreams.

Sadly, what happens when a contractor brings in a "painter" for a major interior paint job. 😟 Folks, please know that just because someone shows up with a brush and roller in hand, doesn't always mean they're up for the task.

At Bird House, our paint team has 25+ years of paint experience under our brushes and has you properly covered in the following areas: exterior and interior paint (residential & commercial), cabinet paint, patching, tape & float and texture.

2021 BHDC Year in Review

This year's Year in Review looks VERY different than years past in terms of completed projects. 😊 To say our hearts are FILLED with gratitude doesn't even begin to describe it.

To my loving wife Jennifer Bazan, Bird House Design Co. was established because you wanted something to call your very own. Well hon, you certainly found it! To be apart of bringing your visions to life, has been something I'll never forget and will forever cherish. You are AMAZING, my love! Honored and grateful to be your partner in life and business. 😊

To our three amazing kiddos, you three our our WHY. The three reasons we push has hard as we do. It's our honor to be YOUR parents. We sure do love you, baby birds! 😊

To my Momma Haydee Bazan and Pop Jesus Bazan, THANK YOU for teaching me what hard work looks like. Thank you for teaching me what good parenting looks like. Eternally grateful for, everything. 😊

To my Mother in Law Linda Camacho and Father in Law Joe Camacho, THANK YOU for teaching me how to build those cedar shutters ALL those years ago. Those shutters are literally what started it all. 😊

Patch/texture/paint new can light holes.✅
Select color and paint ceiling in a striking and contrasting color from walls.✅
Select shade of white to not only be used in Craft Room but also to be carried throughout the entire nest. (No pressure there, right?!)✅
Select/hang designer wallpaper.✅
Fabricate/paint/install custom maple cabinetry.✅
Install soft close hinges.✅
Select/install cabinet hardware.✅
Select/trim/install/finish butcher block countertops.✅
-Incorporate lumber materials from client's outdoor project into floating shelves.✅

Can a subtle transformation still be a dramatic transformation? At Bird House, we think so.

Our client contacted us requesting the following: Full interior paint (walls, ceiling, trim and doors) of her first floor, install of new engineered wood flooring throughout her Living and Dining rooms and a new beadboard feature wall at her existing low wall/bar wall. Yes ma'am, you got it!

Subtle changes to the color pallet throughout the first floor. ✅

Subtle change in flooring material color throughout both Living and Dining rooms. ✅

Understated beadboard feature wall treatment at existing low/bar wall. ✅

Put these three reimagined spaces together and you have one beautifully redefined nest. 😊

Bird House was contacted in mid-Sep by clients whose air handler (which happens to be located near their kitchen sink) failed and flooded their entire kitchen. 🤯😫 On our way, folks! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This space wasn't very big. Roughly 240 sqft. However, Jenna was adamant she could redesign the space to not only achieve greater form but also function. Her vision for a new coffee bar where previously there was only a blank wall, illustrates her passion for her craft and our dedication/commitment to our client's needs.

In 14 days we were not only able to restore full functionality to this space but also breathe new life into it. The end result, absolutely stunning, we feel. 😊
