I suppose at some point I'm gonna have to announce the word "Retirement" 26 Yrs Out here in the "Box" , Not sure what that word actually means mentally anyway , physically is a different story. Closing in on 26 yrs out here , ++ 20 @ Sealy Furniture before this. (Those were some Hard Core "Factory Production" Yrs !!) the more you produced , the More you made $$ "Ticket Time Production " a small handful of us made that run till the End/Shut Down, (8/2000)
Somehow we jumped right into the Uph Doc in 9/2000 with that production mindset, only on a Whole different level of upholstery !! So much Unknown .. Only knowing not only did we have to establish a 'production' quick turn around , And do it as good or Better than Any other Shop around !! All the while learning So Much how things were done the Old Way & We (Rick /Joe/Mindy) Achieved the 5 Star Shop rating "Quickly" ! & Never looked back !! ... It's been one Hellova Ride !!! in 2018 Lost my main man Joe>>Stripper/Cutter (health issues) , Mindy "BEST" Uph Sewing machine operater on this side of the Bay Bridge !!! Hung in there>> till the 23 - 24's was letting me know often, she had had enough (( finally in 9/25 some how I just knew she was there ,was just getting harder to get her here & back home> only for her to run to another job !! We "Never" could have gotten to our level Without her !! I Mean that w/All !!!
SO >> With some part time helper(s) here and there Dr Rick will carry the "Torch" till he can't ...As well I Can't praise our Understanding "Customers" Enough !!! Doc Rick got a Lot on his plate !! & Now 67 & feeling All 46 yrs of this professions Demands >Both Mentally & Physically .. !! again , just gonna go till I can't ..
