Sometimes, it's okay to do things differently? We just finished up this beautiful red cedar river coffee table. Instead of having live edge wood pieces on the outside and the rocky river in the middle, we put the wood piece in the middle and the rocks to the outside. Maybe we should call it an "Island Table"? It will be on display at the Sportsmans show in Shakopee next weekend at Canterbury Park.

For those that have known us for a very long time, this will be a fun trip back down memory lane. Last fall, we got to cleaning up some things here at Viking, and we found some rose etched curved glass that we had laying around from back in the waterbed days. Obviously, we're not going to make a waterbed hutch out of this curved glass, so we opted to make this decorative black onyx display case. It display case works great for showcasing things you collect and love. It measures 48 wide by 31.75 tall by 11.5 deep and has a single front opening glass door to place items into the cabinet. It also has two adjustable wood shelves. We're asking $395 for it, basically our cost for putting it all together. Home Show season is upon us again. Looking for something to do? Come and visit us at the Willmar Home & Outdoor Living Expo this Friday and Saturday. Check out the new finish we can offer! We did some playing around with a torch the other day (and outside). It gives the wood a completely different rustic look. The clear epoxy really seals in the flavor. Yet to come up with a fancy name for this finish, and we're open to suggestions. More research/experimentation to follow.
